A Betting Challenge is a relatively simple but fun concept of betting. You start with a low sensible stake and aim to turn it into a much bigger one over multiple bets by ‘rolling winnings’. For example, £10 to £500 in 8 bets.
Rolling winnings means you place what you win from one bet as your stake on the next, like this:
Bet 1: Starting stake – £10.
Odds: 1.5
Winning returns: £15
Bet 2: Stake is now £15 after winning that on bet 1.
Odds: 2.0
Winning returns: £30
Bet 3: Stake is now £30 after winning that on bet 1 and 2.
And so on until you’ve hit the target you want to achieve or withdraw some/all of it at a sensible opportunity. The important thing is that you should never feel pressured to continue rolling. If you get to a point where you’re uncomfortable risking what you have all on the next bet then consider withdrawing some/all of it and keep it fun.
The aim of a £10 to £500 Challenge is to effectively win a 49/1 shot but by placing bets at odds around 1.5 to evens is a much more reliable and sensible way to achieve that which is why they’re so popular with followers. You can also start with a lower stake if you wanted, like £5 to £250 or even £1 to £50.
To get involved with my Betting Challenge you will need a Betfair account.
Why? Because they will often boost the odds on each bet to the best price anywhere. You can find all the details on how to sign up and get a £20 risk free bet here.
The boosts are really important as if you place the same bets elsewhere a £10 to £500 challenge would probably end up £10 to £300. Sign up above to get the boosted odds and risk free offer.
Once you’ve got an account sorted, load the challenge bet from my web posts above. If you missed out on the start of my latest challenge then simply make my next bet your first. I’ll attach research behind picking the bet in the webpost too.
To put it simply, whatever I like the look of. I will spend 1-2 hours researching the fixture list for that day/night and find a bet I like within the range of odds we need.
Each challenge will be different and therefore take a different number of steps to complete. It will all depend on what your starting stake is, the odds of each bet and what the target amount is whether that be for a £10 to £500 challenge or something else like a £10 to £1,000 Challenge or a £25 to £1,000 Betting Challenge.
For a £10 to £500 betting roller I tend to use this guide with odds varying between 1.5 and evens:
Bet 1 - £10 to £15
Bet 2 - £15 to £25
Bet 3 - £25 to £40
Bet 4 - £40 to £67
Bet 5 - £67 to £111
Bet 6 - £111 to £183
Bet 7 - £183 to £303
Final Bet - £303 to £500
Another common tactic is to remove your starting stake after a few bets. Say by bet 3 you’re at £30, you could withdraw your starting stake (£10) and continue on with the remaining £20. By doing this you guarantee that you haven’t lost any of your own cash and you’ll be playing on with the bookies money for the rest of the bet challenge which we all know is a dream when you’re gambling.
