Liverpool vs LASK Stats Pack, Bet Builder Tips and Predictions

Liverpool vs LASK Bet Builder Stats Pack Featured Image

Liverpool suffered a surprising defeat away against Toulouse last time out in the competition. They are still well positioned in the group table but require one more point to confirm their qualification to the knockouts. The Reds will target this fixture as a great chance to get a victory against a side they already beat away in Austria. LASK travel here bottom of the group but did pick up a morale-boosting 3-0 victory against Royale Union Saint Gilloise in the previous round. They need to at least draw in this match to keep their qualification chances alive.

Liverpool vs LASK Predicted Lineups

Alisson and Jota injury blows for Liverpool

Andy Robertson and Thiago Alcantara both remain out long term for Liverpool. Diogo Jota picked up an injury against Man City and is unlikely to feature. The Reds also have a potential goalkeeper problem with star man Alisson possibly set to miss a few weeks after his injury issue in the Man City game. Backup glovesman Caoimhin Kelleher would have likely started this Europa League match anyway. Cody Gakpo could be in line for a start. As always with Liverpool in this competition, the makeup of the XI is hard to predict.

No new problems LASK

LASK have a squad in decent shape with only defender Philipp Wiesinger and attacker Adil Taoui set to miss out through injury. Both have missed most of the season anyway. The Austrian outfit should line up in a 3-4-3 system with the two wide players George Bello and Filip Stojkovic operating between wing backs and wide midfielders.

Liverpool vs LASK Team Stats

Merseyside outfit dominant in Europe

These stats are from the Europa League only. Liverpool have enjoyed themselves in this competition and average three goals per game. They have heavily rotated but have a vast squad full of quality who are simply too good for the opposition at this level. Some key stats of note are the high number of corners in Liverpool fixtures and the low card count. They have significantly fired off several shots and restrict teams well.

Team Stats 6 1

Lack of offensive threat from LASK

LASK have lost 3 out of 4 group games and the main reason has been a lack of potent firepower. Maybe they have now turned the corner after beating Royale Union Saint Gilloise 3-0 last time out, but their average shots of just 9 per game is not offering enough threat. There have been some very low numbers of corners in LASK games, but they have been one of the dirtiest sides in the competition racking up several cards.

Liverpool vs LASK Shots and Shots on Target Stats

Cody the go-to man

It is fair to assume that Liverpool will threaten significantly here and should be peppering the LASK goal with at least 15+ shots. All of the expected starters in attack, especially Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz should be strong options in this market. At 1.80 to have 3 or more shots, Gakpo to have three or more shots must be a temptation for any Liverpool bet builder. The 1.36 on the Dutch international to have at least one shot on target is also an option.

21 6

Usor to unleash his firing power

Robert Zulj is the standout star in attack for LASK, but he’s only netted once in this Europa League campaign and averages a measly 1.30 shots per match. He is 1.20 to have one or more shots at Anfield which might be usable in a LASK bet builder. The 2.20 on offer that he fires two or more attempts might tempt some people. Nigerian attacker Moses Usor averages the most shots per game for LASK in this competition (2.70) and he might chance his arm if given the opportunity.

Liverpool vs LASK Goals and Assists Stats

A chance for others to shine

Most of the heavy Liverpool goalscorers and assist providers are not expected to start here. This might give a good chance for the likes of Cody Gakpo, Luiz Diaz and even youngster Ben Doak to get on the scoresheet. Gakpo is 2.10 to hit the back of the net which might be slightly generous. Trent Alexander-Arnold is a big price to score or assist at 1.91 should he start this fixture.

31 5

Zulj to finally indulge?

Nobody has scored more than one goal for LASK in the Europa League so far this campaign. The main man in attack for LASK is Robert Zulj who has 10 goals and 8 assists in all competitions. He is a monstrous 4.50 to score or assist at Anfield and if the visitors are to trouble the scorers, then Zulj is surely involved somewhere.

Liverpool Cards and Fouls Stats

Reds well disciplined in the Europa League

The Merseysiders rank inside the bottom three for yellow cards obtained in the Premier League this season, although they have had four players sent off which is the most of anyone. They are usually quite a clean team in terms of cards but do rank fourth for average fouls per game (12.50). Jurgen Klopp’s high-pressing system can lead to several cheap free kicks given away. That figure drops to 11.50 in the Europa League this season and only three teams have obtained fewer cards than Liverpool in this competition.

41 5

LASK have been fouled on average 13.30 times per game in the Europa League, the joint-third most of any team. This is a surprisingly high statistic and might be explained by their counter-attacking nature. LASK have had 44% possession and look to hit teams on the break. There are times when the opposition must stop them quickly in their tracks. LASK might also be a team that play for free kicks from a tactical perspective.

LASK Cards and Fouls Stats

Austrians rank highest for fouls in this competition

LASK rank #1 for average fouls committed per game in the Europa League this season (15.50). Midfielder Sascha Horvath tops the list with 2.30 fouls per 90. Attackers Moses Usor and Robert Zulj can sometimes become over-enthusiastic. LASK rank joint-third for cards obtained in the Europa League, but they have been spread them out across the whole team with ten different players all going into the book. Horvath and Zulj at 1.22 for one or more fouls look the best options to add to your LASK bet builder.

31 7

Liverpool have only been fouled on average 11.50 times in the Europa League this season which is very much a mid table for rank. That figure drops even lower in the Premier League (9.9) and a good explanation is that teams often sit back deep vs the Reds and are unwilling to engage as much. LASK are quite a dirty team, but this might be an occasion where they are slightly more disciplined. 14 fouls and 3 cards obtained in the reverse fixture suggests the Austrians might be more patient.
