10th of February, Daily Double Up
I’ve found a couple of interesting selections from Switzerland and Slovenia for this afternoon. You can load today’s Double Up by clicking here, it’s an early kick off and will get started at 3:45pm.
Read my research below:
Domzale vs Maribor
Here’s quite an obscure league that I don’t touch too often but it’s actually an underrated one in Europe as far as goals are concerned. Especially when the bigger clubs are involved such as Maribor who’ve been a regular name in European competitions over the years.
For this selection I’m going to be backing ‘both teams to score’ I think it’ll be a high scoring game with both sides contributing. Both sides come into this on the back of big wins in friendlies, Domzale were 4-1 winners over Gorica and Maribor beat Nafta 5-1.
Domzale are pretty reliable for a BTTS selection, 9 of their last 14 league matches have seen this selection win. As for Maribor it happened in their last four on the spin, the scorelines were 3-1, 1-2, 2-1 and 2-2.
The last meeting between these two was an absolute stormer. It was a 4-3 classic back in November and it was only 1-0 at half time! An incredible 6 goals were scored towards the back end of the match.
Couple of names to look out for when the goals start to come through. Dario Kolobaric for Domzale who’s the league’s 2nd top scorer with 8 goals in 19 appearances. As for Maribor, look for Rok Kronaveter who has 7 in 16 and Aljosa Matko who’s got 6 in 13.
Young Boys vs Lausanne Sport
It’s deja vu here. Young Boys were part of my 7/1 winning acca on Sunday afternoon as they beat Lausanne Sport, and they’re playing them again this evening where I expect another straight forward win for the hosts.
It was a 4-2 win for Young Boys when they met on Sunday, they had gone 4-0 up and were in cruise control before the relaxed and switched off a little before conceding a couple of unnecessary goals.
Jean-Pierre Nsame scored a couple of goals during that win and he’s the main man for Young Boys catching the attention of many clubs. The centre forward from Cameroon has scored 10 league goals in 14 appearances which is impressive.
Young Boys are flying at the top of the Swiss Super League. They’re 10 points clear of 2nd place Basel with a game in hand which they’ll play out against Lausanne this evening. Young Boys have only lost once this season and tasting defeat is something that rarely happens for them.
Young Boys’ form at home is absolutely incredible, they’ve won 22 of their last 26 matches at the Wankdorf Stadium in the league.
Lausanne are currently experiencing a poor run of form, they’ve lost 3 of their last 4 and they’re yet to pick up a win in 2021.
