Fredrikstad v Sogndal (Over 2.5 goals)
As expected Ronaldo is still the King of Old Trafford and his brace along with the goals at the Hawthorns helped us to a comfortable win in bet 1 yesterday.
Off to Norway next on our trip up the ladder and we begin in Fredrikstad and the Norwegian 2nd tier who host Sogndal this afternoon with goals glaring out in this one.
The result is irrelevant for us however with goals the clear standout market and statistically it looks unreal.
Would you believe, 16 of the last 17 matches that Fredrikstad have played at home have featured over 2.5 goals!
Sogndal are no slouches in front of goal either, prior to today 5 of the last 6 games for Sogndal have featured over 2.5 goals.
I wanted to just double check that this wasn’t one big anomaly and that these sides are actually deservedly both scoring and conceding the goals at the ridiculous rates that the stats suggest.
You’ll be pleased to know it all adds up. Fredrikstad when at home on average produce 2 goals per game in xG which is a very impressive amount. Sogndal away from home produce 1.5 which is actually better than their home xG of 1.41.
Seems pretty clear then that is not through chance that these two sides are scoring and conceding the amount of goals they are.
Had a look for some team news too and although there isn’t much definitively out there, from what I have seen both teams should be at full strength with all the key attacking players involved here.
Looks an absolute belter on paper and here is to hoping it lives up to the billing and sends us on to the second part of bet 2 which takes place in Italy a little later!
AC Milan v Lazio (Over 1.5 goals)
A slightly more prestigious fixture for the second part of bet 2 as we head to the San Siro for an absolute belting looking game between Italian giants AC Milan and Lazio.
Both sides have made very impressive starts and both boast 100% records in Serie A. Lazio in particular have been scintillating with 9 goals scored in just 2 games.
My old pal Oli Giroud meanwhile has unsurprisingly lighting it up in Milan and he bagged a brace last time out as his side ran out 4-1 winners against Cagliari a fortnight ago. He tested positive for Covid over the international break but recently returned a negative test so should take his place in the squad.
I always like Sarri and Chelsea and I am pleased ‘Sarri-ball’ is alive and well at Lazio where he has made a blistering start to his managerial career there.
Ciro Immobile who continues to score at will at club level banged a first half hatty last time out as Lazio won 6-1 against Spezia. He has started the season on fire with 4 in 2 and has a good record against record against todays opponents having scored seven times in 13 matches against Milan in Serie A.
You will be pleased to know too that all the big boys are fit and Zlatan is even expected to return here having missed the start of the season through injury.
As for Lazio, well Immobile is fit and firing, as are Pedro and Luis Alberto. They are at full strength and I have plenty of faith there will be a couple of goals in this one to continue our journey up the ladder going into bet 3.
