Saturday 26th June, Euro 2020: 13/1 Wales vs Denmark Bet Builder
Kieffer Moore – I’ve been very impressed with the Cardiff City striker so far. He got 20 goals domestically this season and has been a real handful so far this summer. He may not be the easiest on the eye with his rough and ready play style but my word is he effective. He leads the line well, he’s always in the right place to try and feed off the work from Bale, Ramsey & James. He’s also utterly dominant in the air, I genuinely don’t think I can name someone so far who I’ve seen be more commanding in aerial battles. Along with that he also averages the highest number of shots on target in the Wales team at 1.59, more than both Bale and Ramsey.
Maehle – Pre-tournament I mentioned how good value this man could be for shots and shots on target and so it has proven to be the case. With 4 shots on target so far I believe only Alvaro Morata has had more. Maehle may be down on the team sheet as a left back but he’s much closer to a left winger. He not only plays high but often drifts centrally and will try and get on the end of balls from the opposing full back Daniel Wass. With Wales likely to sit in at times it may require these late runners to create chances and I think that makes Maehle a great option. He’s had 7 attempts at goal in his 3 games which just shows how attacking he is.
Allen – Wales haven’t been shy of a booking so far this tournament and are more than happy to take a card where necessary. He tops the booking list in my toolkit and also ranks highly for fouls. He has also made the most fouls out of any Welsh player so far at the tournament. With Denmark likely to see a lot of the ball, Allen is going to have his work cut out against some really quality players such as Hojberg and Delaney. Both the Danish midfielders are also physical and frequent fouls and cards themselves, particularly domestically so expect Joe Allen to be right in amongst the fight.
