Helmond vs Telstar
For those of you who can remember the class Friday nights we had a while back betting on the Eerste Divise then you’ll like the sound of this one. 13th place Helmond host 8th place Telstar in what looks to be one of those goalsy Eerste games on paper.
Just inside the last 5 matches, Telstar have scored 13 goals and conceded 8 whilst Helmond have scored 14 and conceded 7. That works out as a combined average of 4.2 goals per game for both sides – well above our 2.5 needed.
In fact, only 1 of Telstar’s last 8 matches and 1 of Helmod’s last 6 matches have seen under 2.5 goals. One big factor in that could be the lack of clean sheets. Helmond have managed just 3 in their 21 league games so far this season whilst Telstar have managed even worse with a measly 2 in their 21 league games this season.
That’s made up in the goalscoring stats, however, especially by Telstar with them failing to score in just 3 of their 21 matches and having seen both teams score in 76% of games this season – the second highest in the entire league. As I’ve said before I like the look of games for goals where both sides are prone to both scoring and conceding them and this one hits that category like a nail in the head.
The one to watch out for tonight is Telstar’s main man Gylnor Plet. The forward is their top scorer having scored 12 goals in 19 games so far this season including 5 in his last 6 appearances. If Telstar’s wingers can provide him with good service tonight like they have been doing recently then we’ve got every chance of him finding the net and over 2.5 goals landing.
Schaffhausen vs Winterthur
To accompany the Eerste game for tonight’s double up I’ve found another that I’m liking the look of for goals. This time we’re off to Switzerland where 2nd place Winterthur travel to 6th place Schaffhausen in the 2nd Tier Challenge League.
The thing that pulled me straight away to it was seeing that 4 of the leagues top 7 scorers so far this season play for either club – quite something. Pollero Rodrigo (the joint top scorer in the league with 8 in 14) and Ivan Prtajin (7 in 14) who both play for Schaffhausen. Roman Buess (7 in 14) and Davide Calla (5 in 11) who both play for Winterhur. Buess and Prtajin are especially in good form with both players scoring 3 goals in their last 3 appearances.
The match generally looks good for goals too. A staggering 94% of Schaffhausen’s 16 league games this season have seen over 1.5 goals – the joint highest percentage in the league. Winterthur with a still very impressive 81%. Schaffhausen have scored in every one of their 16 matches this season and have seen both teams score in 75% of their games.
I’m expecting a really good match up between these two sides. The reverse fixture between them finished 2-2 and there are only currently 2 points separating them. Both sides have also picked up 10 points in their last 5 matches. Tough one to call results wise but it’s got the makings of an end to end battle with a few goals, hopefully, it and the Eerste game can deliver tonight.
