Seattle Sounders vs San Jose Earthquakes
Will Seattle Sounders be winning at half time?
Seattle Sounders currently sit top of the Western Conference 2 points ahead of 2nd place Sporting Kansas whilst San Jose sit 3rd from bottom so that’s advantage Seattle in that sense which would lean you towards a home win.
The home win is also the odds on selection here at 1.61 with San Jose at 5.25.
A huge factor with the MLS is travel; many teams often struggle on the road and success is heavily reliant on strong home form and picking up a few wins on the road.
San Jose haven’t won a league game away from home in 6 which included a 5-0 trashing vs Orlando City and prior to that lost 4 in a row. 1 away win in 11 – I think that just goes to show.
Their home form hasn’t been great either – that last away win vs Real Salt Lake in May was actually their last win entirely. They’ve played 11 home and away games since and haven’t won a single one (5 draws, 6 defeats).
They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet since playing bottom of the league Austin 6 games ago which doesn’t bode well ahead of a 1674 mile round trip to Seattle.
Seattle are the league’s top team having scored 25 goals in 16 matches and have the best defence conceding just 12 goals. Top scorer Raul Ruidaz has scored 5 goals in his last 8 and is expected to start up top for the hosts.
Of course, the thing about this question is will they be winning at half time? My thoughts on this are reflected in the odds too, it’s currently 2.1 for that to be yes, 2.3 for the game to be a draw at half time and 4.5 for San Jose to be winning.
I’m going to recommend going for yes on this one, play to the stats and go with the odds – it’s the wise thing to do with these questions.
