Top of the tree at Christmas and top scores in the Championship, it’s looking like Leicester will be back in the Premier League next season.

Averaging 2 goals per game as we pass the halfway stage in the season, the Foxes have scored 2+ in 67% of games at the King Power.

Leicester have scored at least twice in 5 of the last 6 games, with the only exception being the 1-1 draw Away to 2nd placed Ipswich Town.

Huddersfield are having nowhere near as good of a season compared with their hosts, they sit 21st in the league, just 4pts clear of the drop.

The visitors allow 1.67 goals per game on their travels. They’ve conceded 2+ in 2 of the last 3 and 3 of the last 5 in the Championship.

Last meeting saw Lecicster pick up a 0-1 win in Yorkshire. However there was a good amount of rust to shake off in what was only the second game of the season. Now the season is in full swing, things could get ugly for the Terriers.

But it’s at Home where Bolton really turn it on, 2.25 goals per game.

Burton are nothing special this season, 16th through 24 games, and they’ve really struggled on the road.

Albion’s Away record in 2-3-7, allowing the 3rd most goals in the league Away from Home. Burton have allowed 1.67 goals on their travels.

Burton have allowed 2+ goals in 4 of the last 5 Away games.

In this fixture last season Bolton ran out 2-1 winners, with 16 chances on goals and an xG of 1.91. Based on how these sides have fared this season, I’d expect more of the same on New Year’s Day.

Gateshead’s goalscoring record of 2.08 goals per game is the second highest in the National League, trailing only leaders Chesterfield who score 2.41 goals per game.

The Tyneside club also holds the unusual record of being more prolific Away from home.
