Man City vs Brighton
City return to The Etihad as a wounded animal following defeat to Liverpool, so I’d expect an emphatic response here.
City average more goals per game than any other side in the Premier League by a considerable margin.
City games average 4.30 goals with 90% of them having over 1.5, last weeks defeat was their only unders.
Of course, I highly expect City to cover this line on their own.
They’ve scored 2 or more in 80% of PL matches this season and average a massive xG of 2.42, that rises to 2.78 when playing at home.
With Haaland on hand to convert that. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another heavy City win.
This season, City have played 5 home games, the results are mental:
4-0 vs Bournemouth
4-2 vs Palace
6-0 vs Forest
6-3 vs United
They’re not bulletproof as those score lines show. With both Palace and United causing problems.
Brighton haven’t scored in their last 3 matches, but they’ve been unlucky; maintaining a very good xG.
They marginally lost the xG battle vs Spurs then recorded 1.83 xG against Brentford and 2.33 against Forest.
Any Brighton goal is definitely a bonus but I expect City, or Haaland on his own, to cover the 2 goals we need.
Dorking Wanderers vs Wealdstone
Good old Dorking. A bit of a favourite on my page this season thanks to their affinity for goals.
Their matches average 4.15 goals and 92% od them have had this selection land.
They’ve kept just 1 clean sheet from 13 and are yet to take part in a goalless game.
As for Wealdstone. They’re not quite as mental but their 2.08 goals per game is still above what we need and Dorking should balance that out.
6 of Wealdstone’s last 7 games have had over 1.5 goals and they can definitely cause problems here.
They average an xG of 1.20, which isn’t exactly setting the world alight; however with Dorking having an average xGA of a whopping 2.03, there’s no doubt that Wealdstone will have chances and I highly doubt Dorking will get their 2nd clean sheet of the season.
Dorking themselves create plenty of chances with their 1.57 average xG.
They’ve scored 24 goals this season, which despite being in 15th place, makes them the 5th highest scorers in the division.
Despite the loss of striker Alfie Rutherford, goals have remained consistent. James McShane has stepped up and continued his excellent record from last season.
