Bolton vs Forest Green

Let’s begin with the only game outside of the National League to feature in my accumulator.

Bolton play host to a Forest Green side in dreadful form.

FGR have taken just 1 point from their last 18 available. They’re routed to bottom of the league and look set for a return to League Two.

Bolton, by comparison are right in the mix for the play-offs. They did suffer defeat to Derby in their last match but that’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Prior to that, Wanderers were 6 games without defeat. Their key to success has been how few goals they concede.

They average an xGA of just 1.01/90 and have kept a clean sheet in nearly 50% of their matches, only Sheff Wed can better that.

By comparison, Rovers give up 1.73 xG per game. More concerning is how little they create, they don’t even average a goal per game.

They’ll be hard pressed to trouble Ian Evatt’s regimented side.

Gateshead vs Wrexham

Wrexham were part of the winning accumulator I posted on Saturday. They’re an absolute dream for goals.

They’re a ridiculous force going forward, they’ve scored 67 times in 26 games. The highest GPG in the league.

Their matches average a total of 3.39 goals. Matching up nicely with Gateshead’s 2.88 average and massive 76% BTTS strike rate.

Wrexham are in exceptional form, they’ve now won 5 straight NL games after their 3-2 weekend success at Maidstone.

This squad is far too good for this division. Paul Mullin (19 goals) & Ollie Palmer (12 goals) could easily play in League One.

Wrexham could easily cover this line on their own against a Gateshead side who’ve managed just 2 clean sheets in 25 league games.

Chesterfield vs Altrincham

A clash between 2 in form sides rounds out the accumulator. The Spirites have won 5 and lost 1 of their last 6. Alty have won 4, drawn 2.

Alty have come from seemingly nowhere to make a play-off push. Chesterfield sit 4th, arguably behind where they’d be expected to be given their budgets and quality.

These two average 3.30 and 3.34 goals per game respectively and boast hefty hit rates of 70% and 65% for over 2.5 goals, ranking them 2nd and 4th in the division for this selection.

Port Vale vs Derby

Football icon Derby draw no bet

Derby made it 4 wins on the spin as they knocked off a very strong Bolton side at the weekend.

Their last defeat was back in October when they were beaten by Ipswich, that’s 13 games in the league without defeat.

They’re a side who keep things tight. Rarely running away with big score lines, particularly on the road.

They’ve managed a clean sheet in nearly half their games, that’s the same both home and away. They’ve only conceded 9 goals on their travels so far this season.

Vale are having a mediocre season. They’ve performed well against sides in and around them but they’ve struggled to crack the bigger sides in the division.

Posh, Ipswich and Sheff Wed have all won on this ground. Draw no bet gives us that extra safety in the chance that this is a cagey affair that ends 1-1 or 0-0. Derby have the superior quality though and should edge it.
