I was tempted in backing him to score, but there wasn’t a huge difference in price when it came to the shots on target, so I believe that’s the better route to take.

Hardly breaking news, but Kane was the main man during qualifying. He scored 12 goals in 8 appearances, and he had more shots than any other player (33). He averaged a large 5.08 shots per 90 minutes with 2.92 going on target.

I’m not sure where Tottenham would be without Kane’s contribution this season. He’s bagged 12 goals in 15 matches and the next best player is Bentancur with 4. For Spurs, Kane is averaging 3.51 shots P/90 with 1.62 being on target.

I’m confident in Bellingham getting the nod here to play in midfield alongside Declan Rice. It’d be criminal for Southgate to consider Kalvin Phillips against an inferior opponent and given the fact that he’s hardly played at club level.

Anyway, I think there’s tonnes of value in Bellingham shots against Iran because they operate in a low block and counter attacking style. It’s likely that they’ll sit in to frustrate England, and this scenario is perfect for someone like Bellingham to shoot from range.

Bellingham averaged 2.40 shots per 90 minutes during World Cup qualifying with 0.80 on target.

The Dortmund man has become much more of a goal threat recently. For instance, he’s had a shot on target in 12 of his last 16 matches in all competitions for club and country. And you’ll have seen in the Champions League, he made history by scoring in four successive matches as a teenager.

I’m confident in Phil Foden starting. For me, it’s clear that he’s the best player England have when it boils down to natural talent. The way he plays is reminiscent of a fresh youngster coming out of South America, not Stockport.

Foden was the assist man during qualifying for the Qatar World Cup. He only started 6 times but he managed to pick up 4 assists which was more than any other England player.

He’s been doing alright for City so far this season too, he doesn’t come close to De Bruyne on the assist front but there’s no shame on that. Foden has been involved in 11 goals in 14 appearances in the Premier League.

Again, on the topic of Iran’s low block style of play, a player like Foden will be tasked with unlocking the defence and playing those balls through the lines. Given the reality of how the game will be played, I really fancy the Foden assist.

The fourth and final name in my bet builder is Iran’s Sadegh Mohrrami to be carded.

Mohrrami is a right-back who plays for Dinamo Zagreb domestically, I think he could well be in for a long 90 minutes. He could be up against Phil Foden who’s tricky and good at drawing fouls. Plus there’s the chance that Jack Grealish makes an appearance from the bench, a man who draws 2.79 fouls P/90.

During AFC World Cup qualifying, Sadegh Mohrrami was Iran’s most carded players. He picked up 4 yellows and a red in 12 appearances.

He was booked twice during the six Champions League group stage matches, including in the last one against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
