Borussia Dortmund To Win Group F
Borussia Dortmund might lack the quality to ruffle feathers in the latter rounds of the FIFA Club World Cup. However, they look well-equipped to top the pile in what looks like one of the weaker overall sections in Group F.
Dortmund need to see off challenges from Fluminense, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and South Korea’s Ulsan HD to dominate Group F and if they can come through their matchday one test against the ageing Brazilians in New Jersey, it could be smooth sailing thereafter for Die Schwarzgelben.
BVB capped the 2024/25 campaign in fine style, stringing six successive wins together in all competitions while netting at least three goals on each occasion.
Indeed, Dortmund have posted a healthy 60%-win rate since the appointment of head coach Nico Kovac in February and they recorded superb victories over Barcelona (3-1) and Bayern Leverkusen (4-2) during their late surge.
Kovac’s 3-4-2-1 formation has been getting the best out of Serhou Guirassy, Julian Brandt and Karim Adeyemi, who chipped in with 21 goal involvements combined during Dortmund’s end-of-season six-game winning streak.
With that trio leading the charge, Dortmund could have too much firepower for their counterparts in Group E and are very backable at a price of 1.44 to occupy top spot.

With iconic manager Marcelo Gallardo back at the helm, River Plate have been in the right kind of in Argentina’s Liga Profesional (one loss in 16) and in the Copa Libertadores (unbeaten in six) ahead of this summer’s American adventure.
The landscape in Club World Cup Group E also has a favourable look, with fixtures against Japan’s Urawa Red Diamonds and Mexico’s Monterrey offering the chance to book tickets for the knockout phase before they face Inter Milan on matchday three.
A River Plate defence comprised of four Argentine internationals (Acuna, Pezzella, Montiel & Quarta) should provide a solid platform, while wonderkid Franco Mastantuono’s creativity and striker Sebastian Driussi’s predatory touch can do damage further up the pitch.
If River Plate earn qualification, then a date with either Fluminense or Borussia Dortmund will likely await, and the Argentinean giants have the mettle to mix it with either opponent.
There is plenty to like about River Plate’s quarter-final qualification chances, and they should attract plenty of interest here at a price of 3.25.

Big-name trio Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Erling Haaland dominate the top scorer market offerings ahead of the Club World Cup, though we like the Frenchman’s chances of outperforming his rivals at a generous price of 6.00.
Mbappe’s Real Madrid will share Group H with a relatively uninspiring duo of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal and Mexico’s Pachuca alongside a Red Bull Salzburg outfit that Real walloped 5-1 in January (UCL), and the prolific 26-year-old could fill his boots against some meek-looking first-phase opponents.
Mbappe was good for almost a goal per game (31 in 34) during his maiden La Liga campaign in 2024/25 and also delivered seven goals in 11 Champions League starts for Los Blancos, while the jet-heeled attacker hit his 50th goal for France in Les Bleus’ Nations League win over Germany during the week, just days after notching against Spain.
A scenario where Real post three big group-stage wins is easy to envisage and Mbappe could build a close to unassailable goal tally to carry into the knockout stage.

For the ultimate prize and FIFA Club World Cup crown, it’s difficult to look beyond PSG, who still offer plenty of value in the outright stakes, even as 5.50 favourites.
With the Champions League finally conquered, PSG should be able to play with the same swagger stateside that made them Europe’s best team and serial trophy winners in 2024/25.
Of the list of likely contenders in the USA, this PSG side have the fewest flaws and their route to the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup can be plotted with little complication.
Group B opponents Atletico Madrid could provide a tricky test though Botafogo and Seattle Sounders should offer little resistance, while a fixture against a team from Group A (Porto, Palmeiras, Al Ahly, Inter Miami) in the Round of 16 already has a straightforward feel.
While Luis Enrique’s team is packed with individual talent, PSG have become a powerful collective under the Spanish tactician with chemistry between teammates and hard work out of possession complementing their silky work on the ball.
You’d happily back PSG to beat any team in the world on current form, so it makes sense to give them preference in the FIFA Club World Cup outright markets here at odds of 5.50.
