Crystal Palace vs Wolves Bet Builder Tips, Preview

FA Cup final hero Eberechi Eze is in superb form, and though he may be a rotation risk having played the full 90 minutes at Wembley on Saturday, we expect he will start here, in Palace’s final home game of the season.

The England international is in sensational form for the Eagles, bagging six goals in his last five games, including four goals in his last three in the Premier League. In fact, five of the last six league goals scored by Crystal Palace have all been scored by Eze.

He is averaging 1.0 shots on target per 90 in the Premier League this season, bettered only amongst regular starters by striker Jean-Philippe Mateta’s 1.08. Across all competitions, Eze has had a shot on target in eight of his last nine games, only failing to do so in just 46 minutes on the field against Bournemouth.

Eze did not feature in the reverse fixture, a 2-2 draw at Molineux in November, but Eddie Nketiah, who started in his place on the left of the front three, had a shot on target, whilst Ismaila Sarr had two shots on target from right flank.

Wolves could take advantage of what will surely be too short a turnaround for Crystal Palace after the exertions of their FA Cup final win.

With nothing to play for in the league, and Wolves having a huge rest advantage, we would expect the visitors to create a lot of chances here, which should mean plenty of opportunities for Matheus Cunha.

The Wolves forward has had a shot on target in four of his last five league appearances, only failing to do so against Man City, in their 1-0 defeat at the Etihad in May.

Prior to his suspension, he also had a shot on target in seven straight league appearances, making it 11 of his last 12 league games in which he tested the opposition goalkeeper at least once.

With Cunha averaging 1.48 shots on target per 90, and Crystal Palace likely to be some way off their best, a price of 1.40 for Cunha to hit the target at least once looks too good to pass up.

Having come on as a second-half substitute for Adam Wharton during Saturday’s FA Cup final, Will Hughes looks like a safe bet to start this midweek clash with Wolves.

One of the Premier League’s most frequent foulers, we expect Hughes to get stuck in here. Wolves’ games always seem to feature plenty of fouls, with the Black Country club committing the second-most fouls per game in the Premier League (12.90), as well as the sixth-most fouls drawn (11.20).

Hughes has committed at least two fouls in seven straight league starts, and in 13 of his last 14 Premier League starts, for a seasonal average of 2.80 fouls per 90, far and away the highest of any regular starter for the Eagles in 2024/25.

He will be up against Wolves’ midfield duo of Andre and Joao Gomes, who win 1.26 and 1.32 fouls per 90 respectively in the Premier League. Gomes has won two or more fouls in five of his last six league starts, and also won three fouls in the reverse fixture between these two sides, back in November.

Wolves’ Marshall Munetsi offers a good price to commit a foul here, being well worth backing even at the relatively short price of 1.25.

Munetsi has committed 1.58 fouls per 90 in the Premier League so far this season. He has featured in 12 league games for Wolves this season, committing a foul in 11, including his only substitute appearance, his debut against Liverpool in February.

In the reverse fixture, played before Munetsi signed for Wolves in January, it was Pablo Sarabia who played in his position on the right. Sarabia committed a foul, so Munetsi, a player who fouls much more frequently, looks well placed to foul here too.

The Zimbabwe international forward will be going up against Crystal Palace’s Jefferson Lerma, with Marc Guehi likely to be rested, if not out of the game entirely after being forced off in the second half of their FA Cup final triumph.

Lerma, usually a midfielder, is comfortable on the ball and more than happy to bait his opponents into pressing him and committing fouls. He wins 1.63 fouls per 90, with his last league appearance on the left side of the back three seeing him win three fouls.
