Arsenal make the one-hour hop across the capital this afternoon to face London rivals Fulham at Craven Cottage where the Gunners will hope to consolidate their position at the summit of the Premier League table with their 21st victory of the campaign.

Fulham, who have designs on a top-six finish this term, have lost just twice in their last nine assignments on home soil, however Mikel Arteta’s title chasers have the division’s best away record this season by a distance and Arsenal will kick-off today’s game as odds-on favourites to prevail.

Below, you can immerse yourself in my stats pack for this afternoon’s clash which is packed wall-to-wall with info for your bet builder coupons. Use the mountain of metrics below alongside my Stats Pack Guide to optimise your chances of success.

Predicted Lineups

Portuguese anchorman Palhinha serves the second of his two-match suspension today leaving a major hole at the base of Fulham’s midfield. January recruit Sasa Lukic is favourite to replace Palhinha in the middle again alongside Harrison Reed.

Cedric Soares cannot play against his parent club this afternoon, though Kenny Tete is the preferred choice at right back in any case. Ex-Arsenal pair Bernd Leno and Willian will hope to put on a show against their former employers.

Mikel Arteta has a bit of an issue to contend with at centre-forward with Eddie Nketiah out injured, Leandro Trossard considered a major doubt and Gabriel Jesus only just back in full training following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Reiss Nelson could be rejigged into a front three at Craven Cottage, while Martin Odegaard will hope to return to the fold having missed Thursday’s 2-2 draw at Sporting Lisbon through illness.

Team Stats

Tipped to go straight back down before a ball was kicked, 7th-placed Fulham have been performing way above expectations this season, though the vast majority of the Cottagers’ stats for the campaign are titled in the wrong direction from their perspective.

Fulham have lost the xG battle in seven of their last eight Premier League fixtures, which suggests they have been “getting away with it” a little, indeed, only three clubs have posted worse xG against figures per 90 than Marco Silva’s side over the course of the season.

Silva’s aggressive charges have also collected more cards (65) than any other club in the division and Fulham picked up four cards when they last played Arsenal in August. The Cottagers can be backed to amass over 2.5 more of them today at 7/5.

Title favourites Arsenal have been doing stellar work at both ends of the pitch this season, though the Gunners did concede at least twice in four of their last six matches in all competitions which points to a regression in standards defensively.

Only Man City and Newcastle have been winning more corners per 90 than Arsenal (6.15) in the top tier however, and the league leaders won nine of those to Fulham’s two at The Emirates in August. Arsenal could be a nice coupon padder at 3/10 to win over 4.5 corners again this afternoon.

Player Shots and Shots on Target

Talismanic Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is by some distance Fulham’s most prolific performer in terms of overall shots per 90 this season (4.02) and the 28-year-old – who has lodged a shot on target in five of his last six starts in league and cup – is priced at 2/5 to hit 1+ accurate attempts today.

Breakout star Manor Solomon has hit the target with an effort in each of his last five runouts meanwhile, and the diminutive winger is even money to continue that streak today, while ex-Arsenal flanksman Willian could be a decent padding option at 3/10 to have at least one shot at Craven Cottage.

09 03 2023 FULHAM betbuilder stats pack SHOOTING

Gabriel Martinelli had a searing seven attempts on goal when Arsenal last played Fulham in August and the penetrative Brazilian, who could be deployed more centrally today is available at 8/11 to have 3+ shots against the Cottagers today.

Reiss Nelson, who produced some dramatic heroics off the bench against Bournemouth last weekend, could earn a start today in Arsenal’s injury-hit frontline. The youngster had two attempts on target against the Cherries last week and Nelson looks good value at 4/6 to clock at least one accurate effort this afternoon.

Player Goals and Assists

Israeli international Manor Solomon is on the mother of all hot streaks for Fulham and incredibly, the 23-year-old has rattled the net in each of his last five appearances for the Cottagers. Solomon must be bursting at the seams with confidence at present and he is a meaty 4/1 to notch anytime again today.

Leading marksman Aleksandar Mitrovic hasn’t scored a Premier League goal since January 3rd, though he did put Fulham in front at The Emirates Stadium against August and the 28-year-old carries odds of 15/8 to score against Arsenal again later on.

09 03 2023 FULHAM betbuilder stats pack GOALSCORING

With Eddie Nketiah doubtful and Gabriel Jesus not yet fully fit, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka look like Arsenal’s best source of goals at Craven Cottage today. Martinelli has scored four times in his last four league games for the Gunners, while Bukayo Saka has provided five goal contributions in his last six starts in the division.

Martinelli could be a useful pick at 15/8 to score anytime again today, though Saka looks particularly eye-catching at 5/6 to either score or assist against the Cottagers. The 21-year-old has already chipped in with four goals and four assists in away games for Arsenal this term.

Player passes

Fulham had just 28% possession when they lost to Arsenal at The Emirates Stadium in the campaign’s early exchanges, and while their figures should be a smidgin higher today at Craven Cottage, the hosts will still expect to feed on scraps.

That means we have to aim low in passing markets as far as Fulham players are concerned, though bettors should be safe enough adding Tim Ream to their bet builder in the 30+ passes stakes. Sasa Lukic played 44 passes against Brentford last week on his first Premier League start and the holding midfielder could be another body to consider in the same market as Ream.

09 03 2023 FULHAM betbuilder stats pack PASSING

With Jorginho likely to be handed a watching brief from the bench today, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Thomas Partey and William Saliba take centre-stage as Arsenal’s chief distributors today, and all three players have the technical skills to hit north of 70 passes at Craven Cottage.

Saliba has cleared that target with room to spare in each of his last Premier League starts and the Frenchman is handily priced at 4/11 to play 70+ passes again today. Zinchenko is a very tasty 1/2 in the same market and the versatile Ukrainian averaged a gigantic 92.7 passes per 90 across his last seven Premier League runouts.

Fulham Cards

Fulham are one of the Premier League’s filthiest outfits and their team is littered with excellent card candidates. Fullbacks Kenny Tete and Antonee Robinson alongside fiery Brazilian playmaker Andreas Pereira are of special interest today, however.

Kenny Tete committed three fouls when he last faced Arsenal on a troubled afternoon for the Dutchman in August and the 27-year-old is priced at 10/11 to commit at least two more today. On the opposite flank, Antonee Robinson was carded against the Gunners in August, and the hard-hitting American defender has some merit at 5/2 to see yellow again when he marks the livewire Bukayo Saka again

Andreas Pereira meanwhile, is a pressing machine in the middle and final third for Fulham and the 27-year-old gave away two free kicks when he lined up against Arsenal in the opening weeks of the campaign. Pereira is 2/9 to execute one foul this afternoon and 11/10 to commit at least two.

09 03 2023 FULHAM betbuilder stats pack CARDS FOR

Reiss Nelson was a real handful when he was introduced off the bench against Bournemouth last weekend and the dynamic wide attacker has enough in his locker to stretch Kenny Tete at Craven Cottage today. Similarly, Bukayo Saka, who has been fouled 1.73 times per 90 this season, has a combination of speed and tricky that should really test the timing of Antonee Robinson’s challenges.

A little deeper, Granit Xhaka, who has been Arsenal’s most-fouled midfielder in the Premier League this term, faces an awkward afternoon against the quarrelsome Andreas Pereira.

Arsenal Cards

William Saliba has committed six fouls in last ten Premier League appearances for Arsenal, which is a modest-enough tally for a defender. The young French centre-half doesn’t come up against burly attackers like Aleksandar Mitrovic all that often however, and Saliba did finish the Gunners’ last meeting with Fulham with a foul to his name. The 21-year-old is excellent value at 4/5 to commit 1+ fouls again today.

Ben White, who was booked and committed a foul against the Cottagers in August, could add stuffing to your bet builder at 1/4 in the 1+ fouls market this afternoon, though the 25-year-old is a weightier 7/2 to be carded again.

Thomas Partey doesn’t make an appearance on our list, however, the Ghanaian committed four fouls against Bournemouth last weekend and 13 in his last ten Premier League appearances overall. The 29-year-old knows how to mix it up when required and Partey is a generous-looking 3/10 to sin at least once later on.

09 03 2023 ARSENAL betbuilder stats pack CARDS FOR

Aleksandar Mitrovic is deliberately unwieldy up front for Fulham and alongside poaching goals, the Serbian makes it his business to be a major inconvenience for centre-halves. The 28-year-old draws plenty of fouls as a result and he could entice William Saliba into action today.

Ex-Arsenal flier Willian, who has been fouled 1.11 times per 90, will be determined to give Ben White a rough ride down the Fulham left, while Sasa Lukic, who has been a magnet for fouls during his short spell in England, will aim to hook Thomas Partey into a skirmish or two in midfield.

Fulham vs Arsenal

Calendar 12th March
Football icon kick off 14:00
Football icon Gabriel Martinelli 1+ shots on target
Arrow down

Gabriel Martinelli averages 0.95 shots on target P/90, and with the likes of Jesus and Nketiah unlikely to make an appearance, the Brazilian could well start up top for the Gunners come Sunday.

He’s managed a shot on target in 3 of his last 4.

Fulham concede 4.88 shots on target P/90.

Football icon Arsenal over 4.5 corners
Arrow down

Arsenal average 6.15 corners P/90. They also average 60% possession, and given their strong focus out wide through players such as Martinelli and Saka, Arsenal should find plenty of opportunities to win corners.

Fulham concede 5.42 corners P/90, and conceded 9 the last time they played Arsenal.

Football icon Fulham over 1.5 cards
Arrow down

Fulham have the single worst disciplinary record in the Premier League, and even with card magnet Joao Palhinha suspended, there are sill a number of potential culprits in their squad. They average 2.50 cards P/90, and picked up 3 in their last meeting with Arsenal.

The Gunners have a number of players that could cause Fulham problems, with the likes of Martinelli, Saka, and Trossard (1.20, 1.73, and 2.00 fouls drawn P/90 respectively) all capable of forcing cards out of their opponents.

Football icon Antonee Robinson 1+ fouls
Arrow down

Antonee Robinson’s tough and tenacious tackling has perhaps gone under the radar this season given the many misdemeanors across the squad. he averages 0.99 fouls P/90.

He’ll face off against Bukayo Saka, a crafty winger fouled 1.73 times P/90, and one who attempts 4.34 dribbles.
