Liverpool vs Man United Stats Pack, Bet Builder Tips and Predictions

Liverpool vs Man United Bet Builder Stats Pack Featured Image

Others may have earned huge success in recent years but across the globe, no Premier League football match is bigger than Liverpool vs Manchester United. Everybody associated with the visitors will be out for revenge. In March of this year, United endured the ultimate humiliation, being flattened 7-0 by a ruthless Liverpool side. However, United enter this weekend having won just one of their last five and off the back of being knocked out of Europe completely.

Liverpool are in great form. Jurgen Klopp’s side top the Premier League table having lost just once all season – and that came when they controversially had a goal chalked off and finished up with nine men against Tottenham Hotspur.

This is a game like no other and we’re doing our bit to service you, the fan, by breaking down all the numbers you need to not only enjoy your Sunday afternoon but win some money too – you can follow our Liverpool vs Man Utd bet builder tips below. The Stats Pack Guide is your best friend for learning about the numbers in the visuals of a Stats Pack.

Liverpool vs Man United Predicted Lineups

Liverpool continue without Mac Allister

Liverpool’s early qualification from Europe meant they could rest players for the midweek trip to Toulouse with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Virgil van Dijk staying home ahead of this fixture. They remain without Alexis Mac Allister so Wataru Endo is likely to start at the base of midfield once more while Curtis Jones’ start in midweek suggests Ryan Gravenberch will get the nod.

No Fernandes for United

For the first time this season, Erik ten Hag will be without captain Bruno Fernandes with the midfielder’s booking against Bournemouth his fifth of the campaign. Sofyan Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo and Hannibal Mejbri will be hopeful of an opportunity. Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Victor Lindelof are touch-and-go but are expected to make it.

Liverpool vs Man United Team Stats

Liverpool a machine at home

Liverpool are having a phenomenal campaign and their home form is exquisite. The Reds have scored in all 16 matches this season, managing 1.7 xG or higher in 11 of those. They have managed 12 or more shots in 14 of their Premier League outings with 4 or more shots on target in 12 and 5 or more in 9. When you look at home matches, they have had 17 or more shots in every game at Anfield, 5 or more shots on target and 6 or more corners in six of their seven home games.

United abysmal against the best

Man United have played five of the sides playing in Europe this season in the Premier League. They have lost all five. They have conceded 1.7 xG or higher in each and managed 1 xG or less in four of the quintet. They have also conceded 4 or more shots on target in each of those matches and 5 or more in four. One thing they do get is corner kicks – they have managed 5 or more in 12 of 16 league outings.

Liverpool vs Man United Shots and Shots on Target Stats

Plenty of options for Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold is a right back with a special talent for striking a ball. It makes sense that he takes a lot of shots. With Liverpool so dominant at home, he is taking liberties, having two or more shots in five of his six home starts and you can back him at 1.73 to do that again.

21 8

McTominay doing his best

Scott McTominay has become something of a fan favourite recently because of his willingness to get near the opposition box and make things happen. He has taken a whopping 14 shots in his last two matches and managed two or more in six of his last nine – you can back him at 2.1 to do the same. He has also had a shot on target in seven of his last ten, which can be backed at 2.5.

Liverpool vs Man United Goals and Assists Stats

Salah remains a king

Mo Salah remains one of the best players in the Premier League and his form continues to push him towards legendary status for the division, let alone Liverpool. He now has 18 goal contributions this term, scoring or assisting in 13 and it would have been 14 but for that incident vs Spurs. He will be up against a makeshift or unfit left back and is 1.44 to score or assist anytime.

31 9

Time for somebody to step up

It feels like if anybody is going to score in a Man United shirt at present, it’s Scott McTominay and he’s incredibly available at 8.0 – that’s lower than Wataru Endo and Virgil van Dijk. As for the others, Marcus Rashford is 4.2 to score anytime and Rasmus Hojlund is 4.0. They are underperforming by at least 2.5 xG and there’s no better time to step up than now.

Liverpool Cards and Fouls Stats

Konate may have his work cut out

Liverpool’s heavy metal football means they tend to be a little overzealous. It has led to their stars committing several fouls and Ibrahima Konate could be the man in trouble at the weekend. He plays the right centre back role that requires cover for the floating Trent Alexander-Arnold and he has committed a foul in 10 of his 12 starts across all competitions, including 2 or more in 4 of his 7 Premier League starts.

41 8

That could be an issue because United’s two most fouled players are Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund, who will be looking to play closely aganst him. Garnacho is a nightmare for opponents, his tricky feet and sharp acceleration have seen him fouled in 12 of his 13 starts in all competitions, including all eight Premier League starts. Hojlund, meanwhile, has drawn a foul in 5 of his last 7 starts in all comps.

Man United Cards and Fouls Stats

United midfield expected to challenge

With no Bruno Fernandes, United’s midfield will compromise of tenacious individuals. Sofyan Amrabat is expected to line up and he has committed a foul in his last five starts having played a little more regularly in the centre of the pitch. Scott McTominay, meanwhile, has committed a foul in 7 of his last 9 starts, including two or more in six of those. A note for Diogo Dalot, who has committed a foul in 11 of 14 Premier League starts including all five which he has played a part at left back in.

42 2

That last note is useful to know given that Mo Salah has been fouled in 11 of 16 outings this season, and those two will be doing battle down that flank. As for the midfielders, perhaps Wataru Endo will be on the end of more kicks – he has been fouled two or more times in three of his four Premier League starts.
