It’s a familiar sight in the Premier League as Man City once again head into the final game of the season at home with the fate of the title in their hands.

As it was 10 years ago, in 2013/14, it is West Ham at home for the reigning champions, and Pep Guardiola’s side will be hoping for something more akin to their routine 2-0 victory that day than their dramatic 3-2 wins over QPR in 2012 and Aston Villa in 2022.

West Ham have little other than pride to play for and have already given departing manager David Moyes a happy send-off with a 3-1 home win over Luton last weekend. With the outgoing Moyes jokingly suggesting the Hammers would struggle to beat the hosts’ under-14s side earlier this week, Arsenal fans may be forgiven for already losing all hope of a first title since 2004.

Everything seems to suggest that Kyle Walker will be lifting City’s fourth straight league title at 6pm on Sunday, but things rarely seem to work out quite so simply on the final day at the Etihad, so we could be in for something special here.

However the game goes, there are plenty of great angles for a bet. If you fancy getting involved with a Man City vs West Ham Bet Builder, we’ve compiled the information for this one below, so read through, choose your favourites and back yourself an end of season Bet Builder.

Man City vs West Ham Predicted Lineups

Just two changes expected from Pep Guardiola

Man City have, for the most part, settled on a first-choice XI as the season has entered its final weeks. The front six have remained unchanged throughout, with Erling Haaland supported by a three of Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. Rodri and Mateo Kovacic sit behind those four, while Josko Gvardiol and Manuel Akanji have been mainstays at the back. Akanji will be shifted out to right back here, with Kyle Walker benched and Nathan Ake slotting into centre back after returning from a knock at Fulham last weekend. Ederson meanwhile is out for the season after breaking an eye socket against Spurs on Tuesday, so Stefan Ortega starts instead.

1 3

Hammers keeping it simple here

A solid performance against Luton last time out, and no fresh injury concerns means David Moyes is likely to stick with his starting XI. Only Edson Alvarez seems to have a real chance of starting from those not in this predicted XI, with James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek having been preferred in recent weeks. Dropping Ward-Prowse into the holding role has allowed Moyes to get Mohammed Kudus, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio on the field at the same time, and with nothing to lose here, we expect Moyes to keep this more attacking posture in place.

Man City vs West Ham Team Stats

Expect a comfortable win for City here

Though there have of course been plenty of surprises on the final day before, everything points to a comfortable City win here. The holders have conceded just one goal in their last five Premier League games, and since their 0-0 with Arsenal, they have scored four or more goals in six of their eight games. This eight-game run has featured three home games, which City have won 4-1, 5-1 and 5-1. The Hammers meanwhile have lost three of their last five, 0-2, 2-5 and 0-5. That opens up the handicap market, and with City winning their last three home games by at least three goals, backing them to win with a -2 goal handicap at 1.73 looks a solid play here.

Team Stats 24

Goals could flow here

The Hammers have not kept a Premier League clean sheet since January 2nd, and their recent fixtures have seen a ridiculous average of exactly five goals per game. They have shipped five goals to Crystal Palace and Chelsea in their last two away league games, and each of their last four have seen at least four goals between the sides. City meanwhile have seen four or more goals in six of their last eight league games, and in four of their last five at the Etihad, the one exception being the 0-0 draw with Arsenal. Over 3.5 goals therefore looks a very appealing option here at 1.50.

Team Stats 25

Man City vs West Ham shots and shots on target stats

Josko Gvardiol an interesting option for the hosts

With West Ham’s players being undervalued, Man City’s players have the opposite problem, being too short to offer much value in the shots on target markets. Gvardiol therefore offers the best value of any City option, sitting just outside the top five for shots on target per 90 at 0.52 in the Premier League. The Croatia international has been in superb form going forward of late, having at least one shot on target in three of his last four league games, and in four of his last six. Despite this burst of form, and with West Ham likely to be sitting deep, inviting Gvardiol forward, he can be backed at 2.10 to have another shot on target here.

2 30

Michail Antonio offers huge value here

With many seeming to expect West Ham to roll over here, there is great value available on their attacking options in the shots on target markets. Our pick is Michail Antonio, who has the second-most shots on target per 90 in the Premier League for the Hammers, at 0.78. The Jamaica international has hit a shot on target in four of his last five starts for David Moyes’ side, and in eight of his last 11 West Ham games in all competitions. At 2.75 to have a single shot on target, he is a great option for a longshot bet builder.

2 31

Man City vs West Ham goals and assists stats

Phil Foden to get amongst the goals

City’s players are incredibly short here, with every chance of running up the score against a West Ham side with little to play for. Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are currently priced at 1.17 and 1.33 to score or assist, so we will instead look to Phil Foden. The England international has scored six goals in his last five league games, scoring or assisting in four of these five games. He is in great form, scoring three times and assisting once in his last two home league games for City. He has also racked up eight shots on target across his last four at home in the league. Foden can be backed to score anytime at 1.91, or you can take some added security by backing him to score or assist at 1.44.

3 23

Hard to ignore Jarrod Bowen

The main man for West Ham this season has notched an impressive return of 16 goals and six assists in the league, and 20 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. The England international has been in decent form while his side have somewhat crumbled towards the end of the season, scoring or assisting in four of his last seven games, bagging two goals and four assists in that run. West Ham’s players are not at all fancied to score by the bookmakers, but if they do, Bowen is highly likely to be involved, either providing the pass or the finishing touch, and so backing him to do so at 3.75 could be a great option for a higher odds bet builder.

3 24

Man City CARDS AND FOULS stats

Mateo Kovacic worth consideration

In and out of the side throughout his first season in sky blue, Mateo Kovacic has found himself a key part of the run-in as City chase a fourth straight league title. The ex-Chelsea man is second amongst City players in terms of fouls per 90 in the Premier League, committing 0.93. He has committed four fouls in his last three starts for the club and finds himself up against Mohammed Kudus who draws 2.82 fouls per 90. With no room to take chances on a day like this, Kovacic will have no qualms taking one for the team and fouling Kudus if he breaks, so it is worth backing the Croatia international to commit a foul at 1.53.

4 23

Despite ranking only fourth for fouls won per 90 in a West Ham shirt in the league this season, drawing 1.25, Jarrod Bowen looks an excellent option to be fouled here. He has won fouls in six straight West Ham games, winning two or more in four of these six. He is up against Josko Gvardiol, who commits 0.80 fouls per 90 for Man City, tied for the fifth-most in the Premier League this season. Gvardiol has committed a foul in five of his last 10 City starts and will be in for a tough test constantly getting back to cover for Bowen’s pace. Bowen can be backed to win a foul at 1.44 here.

5 22

West hAM cards and fouls stats

Emerson Palmieri a nice shout for a foul

West Ham’s Brazilian full back commits the fourth-most fouls of any West Ham player, at 0.94 per 90 in the Premier League this season. He has now committed a foul in six of his last seven games for West Ham, committing two or more on three occasions, including in both of his last two games. He will be tasked with marking Bernardo Silva, whose tricky feet allow him to win 0.91 fouls per 90 in the league, the fourth-most amongst this City side. With Silva having won at least one foul in three of his last four City games, backing Emerson to commit a foul at 1.67 looks a great option here.

4 24

Rodri ranks second amongst likely Man City starters for fouls won per 90 in the league this season, being fouled 1.11 times per 90. The Spain international has been fouled in five of his last six starts for Man City, and in 11 of his last 13 starts for the club in all competitions. Up against Kudus and Tomas Soucek, the third and fourth-most prolific foulers per 90 for West Ham (1.39 and 1.20 respectively), and with Rodri likely to see plenty of the ball in congested space around the West Ham box, he looks highly likely to be fouled at least once, and can be backed to be fouled at 1.40.
