Orlando City vs Chicago Fire Bet Builder
Orlando City vs Chicago Fire
We reach the halfway point of the MLS 2025 regular season on Saturday night and for a bet builder the game which grabs our attention is the one between Orlando City SC and thr Chicago Fire.
These two have already met this season in a 0-0 draw but when you consider there were 41 shots in the match and as combined xG of 4.82 you wonder how it ended goalless.
Chicago keeper Chris Brady was dismissed in the first half of that match which altered the dynamic but there was plenty to suggest that goals will come along here.
Orlando matches average 3.06 goals per game, which rises to 3.88 at home while Chicago games average 3.71 per game overall and 4.75 on their travels.
Orlando are 11-5 for over 2.5 goals this term and Chicago 11-3.
Start the bet builder with over 2.5 goals
One of the key performers for Orlando City SC this season has been their DP player Martin Ojeda.
The Argentine has eight goals on the season and has really thrived from a free role in behind the striker.
Those eight goals have come from 40 shots across the season which equates to him averaging 3.09 shots per 90 so an average game here sees him cover this line.
Throw into the mix that Chicago are sixth in MLS for xGA and chances should come regularly.
Ojeda had three shots in the reverse meeting despite only coming on in the 57th minute and can have at least three more here.
The other really bright spark for Oscar Pareja’s men this season is the Colombia international Luis Muriel.
After an indifferent first season in MLS, the forward has really come alive in this more fluid attacking system that Orlando are utilising.
He has eight goals contributions on the season but it is his shots that catch the eye in this one.
He had six in that reverse meeting between these two and averages 3.71 shots per 90 this season so four shots isn’t beyond him.
Muriel was rested from the start against Atlanta in midweek, coming on after 72 minutes, so he should be fresh and therefore likely to be utilised throughout the match.
He isn’t afraid to shoot from any position so adding the Colombian to have four or more shots makes plenty of sense.
These two teams are much more attack minded than in previous seasons and that is highlighted in the statistics.
Chicago Fire average 5.7 shots on target per match and Orlando are at 5.3 so we don’t need anything like an average game for either for this to land.
The Fire had midweek off and so they should be fresh to go at a leggy defence, one which is missing a shield in Cesar Araujo who was sent off in midweek.
Orlando have enough depth to their front line that they can rotate without losing any quality so both attacks should dominate the defences as they did in the reverse meeting.
Orlando gave had four or more shots on target in six of their last seven matches in all competitions while Chicago have covered in 12 of 16 games.
Complete the bet builder with both to have at least four here.
