Leg 1: Nottingham fOREST dOUBLE cHANCE
Aston Villa have a major problem after playing in the Champions League this season. They beat Wolves after matchday one but since then have failed to win any fixtures, including against the likes of Bournemouth & Man United. They are not used to having to juggle domestic and European games and this could be a serious flat spot for them.
They just had an intense and emotional win away to RB Leipzig on Tuesday and now have to get themselves up for a fierce midlands derby.
Forest have only lost four games all season and are known for being a tough nut to crack at the City Ground. They won this fixture last season 2-0 so taking them on the Double Chance market looks like a decent option here.
Leg 2: Chris Wood To Have 1+ Shots On Target
New Zealand international Chris Wood has been absolutely magnificent this season with only Mo Salah and Erling Haaland ahead of him in the Premier League golden boot race. He’s netted 10 goals in 15 appearances and become an extremely reliable striker. Wood is a patient player who only averages around two shots per game but he’s accurate with half of those on target.
He comfortably averages at least one shot on target per match and has been back in form recently, testing the keeper in all of his last three Premier League games. Chris Wood to have one or more shots on target looks like a decent option.
Leg 3: Ryan Yates To Commit 2+ Fouls
Ryan Yates is renowned for being a persistent fouler and the main reason for that is because his role in this Forest team is an effective midfield enforcer. He averages 1.90 fouls per 90 mins in the Premier League this season and has already obtained four cards. Quite incredibly, he committed 6 fouls last week v Man United and managed to avoid going into the book. He probably won’t be so lucky here but it highlights the fact he’s a persistent fouler.
Aston Villa are the third most fouled team in the Premier League with John McGinn and Youri Tielemans especially being foul magnets, drawing 3.03 and 2.00 fouls per 90 mins respectively. It’s going to be very difficult for Yates to play a clean game so two or more fouls seems very realistic.
Leg 4: John Mcginn To Have 2+ Shots
Villa’s midfield general hasn’t been lacking for shots recently. He’s fired in 11 attempts in his last five games and on three occasions attempted three or more shots. In midweek, the Scottish international had two shots away to RB Leipzig and got himself on the scoresheet. That should give him a timely boost and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t get into some great shooting positions here.
He regularly plays in a #10 type position on the field so his opportunities are plentiful. Taking McGinn to attempt two or more shots looks a massive price to add to your bet builder.
