Leg 1: Chris Wood To Have 1+ Shots On Target
It has been a remarkable season for New Zealand international Chris Wood who is right up there in the Premier League goalscoring charts. He has scored in his last six consecutive Premier League games and will be an attractive price at 2.88 as a potential anytime goalscorer bet.
However, all good runs come to an end and there’s the potential for this to be quite a low-scoring contest. Wood is clearly red hot but the more sensible approach might be to take him to have 1+ shots on target. He averages 1.56 shots on target per 90 mins this season and at some stage will have a chance.
He’s in such great form that you have to think he will be accurate with at least one attempt so this looks like a good foundation block for any Forest vs Newcastle bet builder.
Leg 2: Alexander Isak To Have 1+ Shots On Target
Newcastle’s main man upfront has always been a reliable player for accuracy. This season 10 of his 23 Premier League shots have been on target and he averages 1.33 SOT per 90 mins. In the previous campaign that figure was as high as 1.71 and it’s a mark we should see improve as the season progresses. He is one of the best finishers in Europe and someone you would trust when presented with a major chance.
Just like Chris Wood, Isak has also been in great form recently scoring in three consecutive games. Some injury issues prevented him from being at his best in September and early October but he looks like a player to get with in the upcoming weeks. He could be an option to score anytime but again the safer play is simply to take over 0.5 shots on target.
This is a more than acceptable bet builder price at 1.40 and at very worst the Swedish superstar should test the keeper at least once.
Leg 3: Anthony Gordon To Be Fouled 2+ Times
Newcastle are the most fouled team in the Premier League this season. Anthony Gordon has drawn 2.80 fouls per 90 mins on the field and is a regular target for the opposition to wrangle down. Gordon is elusive, technical and has a lot of skills. He also has an arrogant side which can wind up opponents. Newcastle have been more controlled this season and there has been a conscious effort to play for set pieces when possible.
Forest are a fairly clean side but they are facing an unusual player who will tempt them into making plays. Gordon moves about the field quite a lot so will also test several individuals in different positions. Backing him to draw at least two fouls looks like a value option to add to your bet builder.
Leg 4: Bruno Guimaraes tO bE fOULED 2+ tiMES
Bruno G is the most fouled player in the Premier League this season and has drawn a massive 40 fouls from opponents! That is 15 clear of the next nearest player at an average of 4.1 times per 90 mins! Those are outrageous numbers and some might think they will regress as the season progresses but Bruno is known for being a foul magnet in the middle of the park and is a very clever player.
He’s going to be up against Ryan Yates in the Forest midfield and it should be a proper ding-dong tussle. Yates himself is known for being fouled a lot but also commits a lot of fouls.
Morgan Gibbs-White and potentially Ibrahim Sangare are also contenders to commit a caution against Bruno G so taking the Brazilian to be fouled at least twice or more looks like an excellent bet builder addition. All we require here is half of his seasonal average and even if Forest tries to go easy on him it’s difficult to see how they avoid the trap.
