Third placed Mansfield host a lowly Newport side who look set for a relagation battle already this season.

Newport have conceded more goals than any other team in the league bar Sutton United, a trend that I fully expect to continue here.

They’ve shipped 32 goals in 17 league games – 1.88 on average, but that number increases to 2.25 when playing away from home.

They’ll face a Mansfield side who score 1.81 goals per game on average and who have scored at least one goal in all but three of their league games this season.

They’ve scored 2 or more goals in their last four league games including a 4-1 win against Notts Co, a pretty strong result against a team who dispatched of Newport 3-0 just last month.

Newport simply don’t have the same level of quality, and I expect Mansfield to pick up a couple of goals on Saturday.

Stockport vs Colchester

Stockport have scored more goals than any other team in League Two, which has helped propel them to the top of the standings this season.

They’ve netted 37 in just 17 games, that’s an average of 2.18 goals per game. They’ve also scored at least one goal in their last 16.

Stockport face a struggling Colchester side on Saturday, with only two teams having conceded more goals than them this season.

In fact, they’ve only kept three clean sheets in their 17 outings thus far, with only one of those coming against a top-half side.

Despite a recent upturn in form, Colchester are still conceding, and I think Stockport will simply be a step too far for them on Saturday afternoon.

Latvia vs Croatia

Croatia head in to their final 2 group games, level on points with Wales, but currently sitting 3rd due to their head to head record against Rob Page’s side, having lost and drawn with them.

That means the outlook is simple for the Croats, they have to win their games (ideally) and hope that Wales drop points in theirs.

What is a certainty, is needing a win in Latvia. Which really shouldn’t pose much of a problem.

Croatia won the reverse fixture 5-0, with Latvia being the clear whipping boys of group D. They’ve lost 6/7 matches and conceded a hefty 17 goals in the process.

They did win their last match, but to win here would make it the first time they’ve won 2 Euro Qualifying group games in 12 years.

Latvia are devoid of star quality; something that the visitors have in abundance, with the likes of Modric, Gvardiol, Brozovic and Kramaric all set to start in Riga.
