scotland vs Georgia Predicted Lineups
Scotland unlikely to change
Steve Clarke appears to have settled on a consistent selection with Scotland now, utilising Kieran Tierney and Andrew Robertson down the left, Scott McTominay in midfield and John McGinn and Ryan Christie supporting the striker. Lyndon Dykes was given the striking birth vs Norway and played a key role in the comeback, scoring one and assisting the other.

Youthful attack key to Georgia
Like Scotland, Georgia are unlikely to be making too many changes with ex-France full-back Willy Sagnol looking to get the best from the exciting Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Georges Mikautadze in attack. To do that, Sagnol utilises a 3-5-2 system with 35-year-old Guram Kashia leading the backline and 31-year-old Nika Kvekveskiri organising in midfield. If there is a change, it could be match-winner Zuriko Davitashvili replacing Giorgi Chakvetadze in midfield.

Scotland vs Georgia Team Stats
Scotland in great form
It’s been a long time since Scotland were in this vein of form. Steve Clarke’s side are playing with real confidence, taking 16 shots per game on average and overperforming their xG at an impressive rate. Their defensive record has been excellent too, conceding an average of three shots on target per game, leading to two goals conceded in five matches – and one of those was a penalty. If you want some bigger odds in your bet builder, be sure to look towards cards – there has been an average of six per game in Scotland’s last five competitive internationals.

Georgia also performing above expectations
Georgia picking up four points from their opening two matches in qualification backs up a decent Nations League campaign and thanks to the exploits of their front two (which you can read about below) they are taking a lot of shots and scoring plenty of goals. Perhaps more impressive is the way they are restricting their opposition, conceding three goals in their last six matches. One thing to keep an eye on is cards in your bet builder – there has been an average of four cards per match on average in their last five competitive fixtures.

SCOTLAND VS GEORGIA PLAYERS TO WATCH
All-action McGinn key to Scotland
Aston Villa captain John McGinn gets something of a lease of life for Scotland, allowed to push on from his midfield position to join the attack and make things happen. He does a decent job, managing five shots and two shots on target in three qualification matches and having two or more shots and a shot on target in six of his last nine competitive appearances at the international level. He’s never far from the action, committing seven fouls and drawing nine – he has been fouled two or more times in seven of his last nine international matches.

Porteous keen to make an impression
Watford’s recruitment of Ryan Porteous has been regarded as one of their better pieces of business in recent seasons and he has started all three Scotland matches since that move. He’s clearly keen to make an impression, stepping out of defence and committing six fouls during their Euro 2024 qualification campaign while earning two yellow cards for his troubles. He’s not entirely at fault, however, drawing four fouls from opponents.

Robertson a key avenue of attack for Scotland
Scotland’s rise in recent years has come amid a flurry of big clubs giving opportunities to Scottish talent, and Andrew Robertson is the poster boy. The Liverpool full-back and national team captain has made an impression at left-wing-back with three assists in his three qualifying matches and it’s not a huge surprise given he has put 20 crosses into the opposition area so far. Robertson is available at 21/10 to score or assist anytime and 13/5 to assist anytime.

Kvaratskhelia is Georgia’s new hope
Every so often, a lower-ranked nation produces an absolute superstar and Georgia have that in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The 22-year-old Napoli forward is being touted by some of the biggest clubs on the planet and he is showing why, both at club and international level. The forward has managed two or more shots in his last nine internationals, has taken 11 shots in qualifying so far and managed shots on target against the likes of Spain, Greece and Sweden during World Cup qualifying. He’s understandably a target for opponents and has been fouled 28 times in his 19 competitive outings for his homeland.

Mikautadze knows where the net is
While his strike partner rightly takes the acclaim for his exploits at club level, fellow 22-year-old talent Georges Mikautadze is slowly making a name for himself. The Metz striker scored 27 goals across all competitions for club and country in 48 matches this season, and that confidence has followed him into Euro 2024 qualifying, taking an impressive ten shots and scoring in both matches to date – he’s available to score anytime at 7/2.

Kiteishvili the beast to his striker’s beauty
In order for your best players to shine, others have to do the dirty work and let them thrive – it’s a job that Otar Kiteishvili takes seriously. The Sturm Graz midfielder committed five fouls during their tussle with Cyprus and has committed a foul in his last nine competitive starts in which he has played at least a half of football. He has committed 12 fouls in his last three competitive starts and will be outnumbered here.

Scotland VS Georgia KEY MATCHUPS
Ryan Porteous vs Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
Ryan Porteous is the right-sided centre-back for Scotland and an aggressive one at that, committing six fouls in his three Euro 2024 qualification outings. He will be up against the cream of the Georgian crop, Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a player that has been fouled 28 times in his 19 competitive appearances for Georgia and four times in his two qualification appearances. This matchup is definitely one to consider when looking for selections in your Scotland vs Georgia bet builder.
John McGinn vs Otar Kiteishvili
McGinn doesn’t need much of a reason to get involved in a physical tussle having committed and drawn a combined 16 fouls in his qualification appearances – and it’s a consistent theme both internationally and at club level. Trying to stop Scotland’s attacking midfielders getting control of things is Otar Kiteishvili who has committed a foul in his last nine competitive international starts, and fouled an opponent on five occasions against Cyprus.
Lyndon Dykes vs Guram Kashia
Lyndon Dykes is a striker that likes a scrap if he can make it happen, looking to exert physical dominance over his opponent and it’s a battle that experienced centre-back Guram Kashia will be ready for. Dykes has committed three fouls in two competitive starts while also drawing two fouls. Kashia, meanwhile, was fouled twice by Norwegian players and could well be on the end of Dykes’ wrath.
