Tottenham vs Everton Betting Tips and Stats

It’s tough to call exactly how Spurs are going to play this. A draw will secure their Premier League status for next season save for a miracle from West Ham, but there’s every chance they get caught in two minds with regards to how they set up. That uncertainty has drawn my attention to Iliman Ndiaye, who absolutely has the quality to expose a backline that has struggled all season.

Ndiaye may only average 0.74 shots on target P/90 in the Premier league, but he’s managed more shots on target than any other Everton player in the competition this term. Those numbers have seen a boost of late as well, with Ndiaye hitting the target in five of his last seven, with eight shots on target total in that run to boot.

Tottenham haven’t conceded masses of chances of late, but both Chelsea and Leeds hit four shots on target against De Zerbi’s side in the last two weeks. With this being one of the biggest games in their recent history, expect the nerves to settle in, and for Ndiaye to have the space to cause some havoc.

Conor Gallagher is perhaps the ideal sort of player to have at your disposal in this sort of situation. With Tottenham scrapping for that point to keep them safe, you know full well that Gallagher’s going to be flying into challenges, and that aggressive and rash nature is only going to see him fall afoul of the referee.

An average of 1.91 fouls P/90 in the Premier League tells you everything you need to know about Gallagher’s time at Spurs thus far. He’s committed two fouls on seven occasions since joining the club, having only started in 13, and has failed to commit a single foul in just one of those 13 outings. He comes into this off the back of four fouls against boyhood club Chelsea, having committed three against Leeds the week prior.

Gallagher is clearly in the mood and ready for the task at hand, and the Everton midfield has enough quality to draw something out of him here. The likes of Dewsbury-Hall, Iroegbunam, and Garner combine for 3.97 fouls drawn P/90, with Dewsbury-Hall and Garner in particular drawing plenty of late. We should see fouls aplenty from Gallagher here.

In a game that’s likely to be a real scrap, there’s no doubt that we’re going to see a good number of fouls on either side of the park. Yes, it’s Tottenham who are under pressure, but they’ll do anything to relieve that, so don’t be surprised to see them try everything they can to draw fouls in the midfield.

With the nature of the game, it’s James Garner that’s caught my eye. His season wide stats are nothing special, with the Evrton midfielder averaging 1.06 P/90, but those numbers have improved with time. Garner has committed at least two fouls in four of his last five, and comes into this off the back of three fouls and a card against Sunderland last weekend.

Unfortunately for Garner, this isn’t going to be a quiet, or easy, end to the season. Spurs are going to put their bodies on the line, and they’ll scrap for every loose ball. The likes of Gallagher and Palhinha draw 1.71 and 1.32 fouls P/90 as is, but if James Maddison enters the fray, then we’re all well aware of the quality he possesses as well.
