Day 2 of Royal Ascot looks as competitive a day’s racing as they come. There are lots of big fields to unpick and so many horses that look to be in with a chance of winning, some of which feature in our Royal Ascot Day 2 tips. There are some horses that stand out just that little bit more than others and hopefully, they can run big races for these Royal Ascot Day 2 tips.

YOU’VE JUST GOT TO LOVE A GREY HAVEN’T YOU?
Royal Ascot day 2 gets off and running with a sprint for the fillies in which there are 28 runners. With most of these having won at the first time of asking it is a tricky puzzle to solve. This is proven by the current favourite trading at around the 11/4 mark.
Karl Burke has a fantastic record with two-year-olds and won this race last year with Dramatised. This year he saddles three runners and GOT TO LOVE A GREY who caught the eye on debut, winning by six lengths and following up in a listed contest at York, looks like a great each-way bet for the first four places. Drawn close enough to the likely early pace set by the US raiders, this daughter of Dark Angel can settle just in behind and pick them up late.

KENSINGTON PALACE STAKES – 15:05
UNEXPOSED LADY EROS TO IMPROVE AGAIN FOR THE GOSDEN TEAM
The Kensington Palace fillies handicap is run on the round course over one mile and when you look through the card there are a few that look to have a chance. It is always best to try and look for fillies that haven’t stopped improving and Tarrabb with a tongue-tie applied could be one for Royal Ascot day 2.
However, when you have a horse in LADY EROS trained by the Gosden team and ridden by Osin Murphy you have to look a little deeper. This filly didn’t look like she enjoyed the ten furlongs at this course on seasonal reappearance, however, when she was dropped back to one mile last time on ground that will be similar to the surface here, she looked a far better horse. Beating a horse that has come out and won again I think she can be fighting out the finish, selecting each-way (top five places) price again for our Royal Ascot day 2 tips.

Duke of Cambridge Stakes – 15:40
FRANKIE TO PROSPER ON BECKETT CHARGE.

We continue with the fillies heading into race 3 of our Royal Ascot day 2 tips. One horse that stands out on previous form in this race is PROSPEROUS VOYAGE. Following a narrow second in the 1000 Guineas last season she was able to taste group 1 success in the Falmouth stakes on the July course at Newmarket. Showing she is a horse that clearly enjoys a straight mile.
This year she has already tasted success on Oaks day at Epsom winning a group 3 and can win again here with Frankie Dettori retaining the ride at his final Royal Ascot day 2.
Duke of Cambridge Stakes

Prince of Wales’ Stakes – 16:20
LUXEMBOURG TO GRAB third GROUP 1 SUCCESS.
There may only be six runners in this year’s Prince Of Wales’ Stakes, however looking at the betting for Royal Ascot day 2 race 4 it is sure to be a competitive renewal. A P O’Brien has won this race four times in the past and this year he puts his faith in LUXEMBOURG. After a solid performance last year, Guineas Luxembourg was a strong favourite for the Epsom Derby, however, injury meant he was not able to take his chance.
Since then he has won the Irish Champion stakes, and the Tattersalls Gold Cup group 1’s on this trip, beating Bay Bridge in the latter. In a race that could get tactical, Ryan Moore is the perfect jockey for the occasion, he could control things from the front and win having not seen another rival.

ROYAL HUNT CUP HANDICAP – 17:00
CAN ASTRO KING MAKE IT third TIME LUCKY?

The Royal Hunt Cup is usually a race where the draw can play a big role. With 30 runners on the straight track it is often down to where the most pace is drawn as well as in the hands of the gods if the weather plays havoc with the track.
This year is no different on Royal Ascot day 2, and while these factors are important so is the form of the runners. ASTRO KING arrives for a third crack at this race, having finished second in 2021 and fourth last year when rated 3 lbs higher than he is now.
This race has been the plan since moving to the capable and scientific stable of Daniel and Claire Kubler. Last time out was more than likely a prep run for this and even so he was a massive eye-catcher in the race having been denied a clear run for a long way. If luck goes his way he can run a big race for our Royal Ascot day 2 tips at an each-way price.

QUEEN’S VASE STAKES – 17:35
PEKING OPERA CAN SING HIS WAY INTO THE WINNER’S ENCLOSURE on ROYAL ASCOT day 2
Usually on these terms, you have to take note when Osin Murphy and A Balding team up, and they saddle Saint George here. However, with A P O’Brien having won the race seven times and Ryan Moore five times it is PEKING OPERA that gets the vote.
If you backed both the trainer and jockey blind in this race you would be in profit and their charge won a listed race on seasonal reappearance, staying on at the finish. This son of Galileo has all the class that Royal Ascot demands and at an each-way price (top three places), it is a no-brainer to be on.
Queen's Vase Stakes

WINDSOR CASTLE STAKES – 18:10
ALICE HAYNES AND AMO RACING CAN HAVE MAXIMUM IMPACT ON THE FINAL RACE OF ROYAL ASCOT DAY 2
The final race of Royal Ascot Day 2 finishes with the Windsor Castle stakes for speedy two-year-olds. MAXIMUM IMPACT was the first two-year-old this season to defy a penalty when he won over course and distance in May.
This well bred Havana Grey colt stayed on well that day on better ground than on debut, where he won by 12 lengths on heavy ground. He can give Amo Racing their first Royal Ascot winner in a year as they come to the fore with plenty of two-year-old winners.
