Werder Bremen vs Hoffenheim

First up is Werder Bremen vs Hoffenheim.

Games involving Bremen are averaging 4.00 goals per game, mainly due to their poor defensive record.

They conceded 14 times in just six games and have kept just one clean sheet – and that was against bottom of the table Mainz.

Strangely though, this team scores a lot of goals. They’ve managed to find the net in every single game bar one and average 2.00 goals per game when playing at home.

Hoffenheim will be tough opponents though. They’ve bagged 13 goals in their six games, 2.17 on average.

Their defence is much better than Bremen’s but still leaves a lot to be desired.

Hoffenheim could run away with this one, hence why I’m backing over 2.5 total goals instead of both teams to score. Either way, there should be plenty of goals here.

Estoril vs Benfica

Portugal’s Primeira Liga is well known for goals, but games involving Estoril are off the charts.

They’ve conceded 18 goals in just seven games this season. Only one other team has managed more.

That averages to 2.57 goals per game and they are yet to keep a clean sheet either home or away.

Benfica, on the other hand, have scored 17 goals in those seven games, 2.43 on average, and should breeze past an Estoril side that look destined for the drop.

But that’s not the whole story…

Estoril have scored 14 goals to date, which is the sixth best in the league – it’s even four more than Porto!

This team can score goals. In fact they’ve found the net in every single game this season.

Benfica will be a real challenge for them, but I’m expecting goals here.

Nordsjælland vs Odense

First up on Sunday, we travel to Denmark as the best attacking side in the league meets the second worst defence.

Odense have conceded 18 times in their first 10 league games, that’s 1.80 goals per 90.

And they are the only side in the league who have yet to keep a clean sheet.

Nordsjaelland are firing on all cylinders, they’ve bagged 21 goals to date, that’s 2.10 goals per game.

Now I’ll be the first to admit that Nordsjaelland has entered a bit of a dry spell. They haven’t scored in their last two games, both of which were against some of the worst teams in the league.

But Nordsjaelland remain one of the best sides in the league and like all good sides, they eventually find a way to turn their fortunes around.

But they did batter Ludogorets 7-1 in the Europa conference league on Thursday night.

This isn’t a banker, but the odds here are good enough for Nordsjaelland to find two goals against Odense and get their season back on track.

Tromso vs Aalesund

There’s no other way of saying it: Aalesunds’s defence is terrible.
They’re rock bottom of the Eliteserien and will be getting relegated this season.

No other team has conceded more goals than these lot, 52 in total, which averages to 2.26 per game.

This jumps to 3.09 goals conceded when playing away from home.
They’ve only kept three clean sheets in 23 games and none of them were against a side as good as third placed Tromso.

Tromso have racked up 34 goals this, 1.48 per 90 on average.

That’s fairly average for an Eliteserien team, but I cannot express enough how bad Aalesund’s defence is.

Anyone can score two goals against these lot and I fancy Tromso chances on Sunday.

Sandefjord vs Ham Kam

I’m staying in the Eliteserien for my final pick of the boosted treble.
As mentioned above, Aalesunds get the gold medal for the worst defence in the league.

Silver and Bronze? They go to these two: Ham Kam and Sandefjord.

Ham Kam have conceded 51 goals this season, 2.22 on average, 3.09 when playing away from home.

Sandedjord aren’t much better, they’ve conceded 45 to date, 1.96 per 90.

The crazy thing here though is that both teams actually score a decent number of goals given their league position.

Sandefjord are in the top half of the table in this regard, they’re scoring 1.91 goals per game when playing at home.

Ham Kam have racked up 33 goals to date, that’s 1.36 goals per game when playing away.

This game won’t be pretty, both teams sit just above the relegation spot for good reason, but there’s goals in this game and I reckon there will be two or more of them on Sunday afternoon.
