Liverpool vs Real Madrid
The first man in this fun Champions League bet is a five-time Champions League winner and the latest winner of the coveted Ballon d’Or – none other than Karim Benzema.
Karim Benzema has a higher shots output than any other Real Madrid player and he’s also more accurate. In La Liga, Benzema is averaging 4.40 shots per 90 minutes with 1.44 hitting the target.
His shooting stats are drastically better in the Champions League which is great to know. He’s averaging a large 5.32 shots P/90 in Europe with 2.66 hitting the target. A rate that is superior than the number we need from him at Anfield.
Fabinho at the base of Liverpool’s midfield looks like a cracking shout for a couple of fouls on Tuesday evening.
Fabinho has committed more fouls than any other Liverpool player in both the Premier League and Champions League so far this season.
In the Premier League, Fabinho is averaging 1.38 fouls per 90 minutes and he’s committed two or more fouls in three of his last five starts.
As for his performance in the Champions League, he was pulled up for two or more fouls in a couple of his five starts. However what stands out to me is the home matches against Ajax and Napoli. He committed three fouls against Ajax and a huge five when Napoli came to Anfield.
Fabinho made a foul and picked up a yellow card in last season’s Champions League final which was this exact fixture. He should be in another interesting midfield battle with the likes of Modric, Kroos and Camavinga.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Napoli
Victor Osimhen is one of the most in-form strikers in Europe at the minute and the man behind the mask is a frightening prospect for any defender to come up against.
The Napoli striker has scored 18 league goals in 19 appearances, averaging a goal every 88 minutes in Serie A. He’s only scored once in the Champions League so far, however it’s important to remember that he’s only played twice.
Osimhen is averaging 4.57 shots per 90 minutes in the league with the on target rate being 1.83 P/90. Osimhen has had two or more shots on target in seven out of his last ten appearances across all competitions.
Last but not least, the final part of the bet is Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada to make a couple of fouls. The Japan international is such a good talent, and he’s a great pick for fouls ever since he transitioned from a winger into a holding midfielder.
Kamada is averaging 1.96 fouls P/90 which is the best rate out of the regular starters for Frankfurt. He’s committed two or more fouls in seven out of his last ten appearances where he’s started in the Bundesliga, including his last four on the spin.
Kamada will be in a midfield battle with the likes of Lobotka and Anguissa who are both fouled regularly. There’s also the likes of Lozano and Kvaratskhelia on the flanks who could come inside and create problems.
