You’ll find very little value when it comes to England goals here, but if we’re expecting goals, it certainly makes sense to make use of the value on offer in the assist markets. Somebody has to set up chances here, and whilst you could take a number of names, I’m backing Bellingham. We’re all well aware of how talented Bellingham is, England’s number 10 has hit form in this market, managing three assists across his last three starts for England.

England come into this in solid if unspectacular form, scoring five and keeping two clean sheets across the first two qualifying games. We’ll be expected to score a fair few today. We scored five on our last trip to Andorra four years ago, and although a fair amount of time has passed since then, the gulf in class between the sides remains the same.

With the likes of Kane, Palmer, and Gordon to target, Bellingham will be surrounded by players who will score goals if given opportunities. That trio have scored 26, 15, and 6 league goals respectively this season, and all three players have more than enough quality to score here. Bellingham can be the man to set up those chances.

Regardless of who plays at right back here, expect a few shots to come in. Andorra have nowhere near enough to be able to keep England at bay, and whilst there’s no value in the forwards in this market, there’s certainly value in full backs that are likely to take up more attacking positions. Trent Alexander-Arnold had two shots on target from left back in his last appearance for England, even going as far to score in that game against Finland. In this system, against this sort of opposition, I expect him to be just as effective in forward areas.

Trent has a bit of a history against teams from the lower pots in qualification games. Yes, he was utilised in midfield, but the Real Madrid bound star actually hit the target in each of his three appearances against England’s pot four and five opponents during Euro 2024 qualifying, those teams being Malta and North Macedonia.

Even if he starts at right back here, he’ll absolutely drift into more central positions further up the pitch, especially given that Andorra will be camped on the edge of their own area. Andorra conceded 6.00 shots on target per game in their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, and even the likes of Israel, Kosovo, Belarus, and Romania were able to hit at least seven against them. Expect England to hit similar numbers, if not more, and for Trent to play a part in that.

It’s been a strange season for Cole Palmer. We’ve seen the best of Chelsea’s star man at points, but there’s no doubt he’s struggled for consistency. He’s such a smooth operator on the ball, that’s been evident at least, and 1.69 fouls drawn P/90 in the Premier League suggests that teams have still found it difficult to pin him down. He’s drawn at least one foul in both of his competitive starts for England, and in four of his last five for his country. Even if he can’t make a difference to the scoresheet, he’ll still see plenty of the ball, and have the Andorran midfield all over the place.

Usually, the smaller nations tend to struggle to mix it with any nation of real substance and quality. Fouls are often necessary for weaker sides to stop attacks, but they struggle to even get close enough to commit them; that’s not the case for Andorra however. They come into this having committed 21 fouls against Albania, and 14 against Latvia, their two qualifiers so far.

Go back further, and Andorra committed 20.75 fouls per game in their recent Nations league campaign. You do have to go back to 2021 for the last time these sides met, but once again, there were fouls aplenty, Andorra committing 21 and 16 over two qualifiers. The whole team will get involved, but Palmer is lucky enough to be lining up against Pau Kluad Babot Muller, a player who’s committed a ridiculous nine fouls in two qualifiers thus far. With that in mind, Palmer will do well to escape this without a couple of bumps and bruises.

Typically smaller nations struggle to meet the tempo of the stronger and more established names in world football. Some sides will struggle to even get close enough and commit fouls, but the same really can’t be said of Andorra. They’ve committed 21 and 14 fouls in their last two competitive internationals, averaged 20.75 fouls per game during their nations league campaign, and committed 37 fouls over two games against England during their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Andorra love a foul, and cards will come as a result. They received two and six cards in those two meetings with England back in 2021, picked up two against Albania back in March, and received at least three cards in each of their four Nations League games during their most recent campaign.

Andorra put up some pretty obscene numbers, and the fact that they’ve picked up at least two cards in 12 of their last 13 competitive games, and in 29 of their last 21, is ridiculous. They’ve averaged 2.62 cards per game over that 21 game stretch, and against England, I don’t think they’ll find things any easier. Latvia are perhaps the most comparable team in terms of quality in this group, and they received two cards off the back of 13 fouls against England in March. Palmer, Saka, Bellingham, Gordon, that’s just a few of the tricky names this Andorra side will have to try and cope with. Cards simply look surprisingly good value.
