If you’re new to the Builder challenge and are unsure how it works then I recommend you give my guide a read. It should help you better understand how it works, read it here.
Remember, you don’t have to roll all of your winnings on every bet. If you ever get to a point where you’re uncomfortable staking a large amount on a bet then consider getting some banked. This challenge is all about fun so let’s keep it that way.
As always I’ve written up my research behind Bet 1 below:
I’m not sure how clued up you lot are on Scottish football but it is a league I’ve taken more of an interest in in the last few weeks.
Dundee United vs Celtic
Celtic are going for their 10th title in a row this season and have found themselves already 6 points behind rivals Rangers because they’ve had 2 games postponed due to coronavirus.
This will be their first league game back since the 1-1 draw away to Kilmarnock two weeks ago but they did return to competitive action on Tuesday night, thumping Icelandic Champions KR Reykjavik 6-0 in a Champions League qualifier.
Celtic have the best strike force in the league with last year’s top goalscorer Odsonne Edouard (21 goals last season) up top, supported by James Forrest and Ryan Christie who between them notched up 23 assists last season.
Celtic notoriously struggle to score goals on plastic pitches but today’s match is on grass and they’ve scored 2 or more goals in each of their last 7 league matches on grass (6 of those 7 saw over 2.5 match goals).
Opponents Dundee United are recently promoted and although they’ve started the season well with 2 wins form their opening 4 matches, they have only kept 1 clean sheet.
Kristiansund vs Sarpsborg
I’m beginning to really enjoy getting stuck into these Nordic games, they seem a really good place for goals as well and that’s what we need here.
6th place Kistiansund host 10th place Sarpsborg in the Norwegian Elitersierien. It looks like a tough one to call results wise as both teams are midtable and in decent form and the odds suggest that, but I like this one for goals.
Despite Kristiansund sitting 6th, they’re actually the league’s 3rd top scorers behind our boys Bodo and Molde. They’ve scored 27 goals and conceded 20 in their 14 league games so far this season, that’s a combined average of 3.3 goals per game – well above our 2 or more needed. Each of their last 5 games have seen 2 or more goals – 2-1, 3-2, 1-2, 3-1, 1-1.
Sarpsborg meanwhile have scored 17 goals and conceded 18 so far this season. That’s a combined average of 2.5 goals per game which is obviously lower than Kristiansund but still above our 2 needed. It seems the goals have picked up a lot for them recently though, 6 out of their last 7 have seen 2 or more goals and all of their last 3 games have seen 3 or more.
The one to watch out for today is Amahl William Pellergrino for Kristiansund. He’s the league’s joint-top scorer alongside Bodo’s Kasper Junker who I’ve mentioned a few times. They’ve both scored 11 goals this season with Pellergrino scoring 3 in his last 4 matches. I can’t see any team news saying that he’ll be out.
