Nordsjaelland vs Copenhagen

This is by far the biggest game in Danish football at the moment.

Both teams dominated the regular season with Nordsjaelland finishing just one point above Copenhagen.

However, it was Copenhagen who were able to capitalise on the championship round and secure their 15th Superliga title.

No other Superliga teams scores more goals than these two.

Games involving Nordsjaelland and Copenhagen average 2.71 and 2.29 goals per game so far this season.

I’m not one for looking at past fixtures, but it’s too good not to mention here.

Both teams have scored in 10 of the last 12 times these teams have met.

And it’s hard to imagine any other scenario on Saturday.

Renne vs Lille

Like the Danish game above, both teams have scored in 10 of the last 12 ties between these teams.

And I really fancy their chances of making it 11 from 13 on Saturday.

Last season both teams scored a tonne of goals. Lille scored 1.71 goals per game on average. And Renne scored 2.26 goals per game, with only PSG managing better.

And when it comes to chances, Lille had the second highest xG in the league and Renne had the fifth highest.

55% of Renne’s games and 62% of Lille games finished with both teams scoring last season.

But those stats hide the fact that this fixture has become a fiercely fought game in recent years and both teams will be looking to better their league positions of 4th and 5th from last season.

I’m expecting a few goals here and both teams are more than capable of grabbing at least one each here.

Cardiff vs Swansea

One of the fiercest derbies in UK football kicks off on Saturday night when the Swans make the short trip over to Cardiff.

To say both teams have had a terrible start to the new season is an understatement.

Combined, they’ve picked up just six points in ten league games.
And in Cardiff’s case, they have one of the worst defences in the league.

Needless to say, both teams will want to batter their opponents here and finally get their season off the marks.

There should be lots of goals here. Games involving Swansea last season averaged 2.87 goals per game, the second highest in the league. Games involving Cardiff averaged 2.15.

Given the context here I’m expecting a few goals to ripple the net on Saturday night.
