First place Copenhagen welcome second place Brondy to the Parken stadium on Sunday afternoon in a tie that is sure to bring goals.

Copenhagen are the league’s second highest scorers having scored 18 times in eight league games. That averages to 2.25 goals per match.

Brondby are not far behind them though, they’re the third-highest scorers in the league with 15 goals and an average of 1.88 per game.

They can thank Nicolai Vallys for seven of these, he’s the league’s top goalscorer and will be keen to stay there by grabbing one or two this weekend.

100% of Copenhagen’s games have finished with over 1.5 goals, whereas it’s 75% for Brondby.

Neither team has any major defensive issues, but given the striking power both possess and the context of this being a tie between two early title contenders, it’s hard to imagine the game finishing with less than two goals.

Gent vs Eupen

Next up, we head to Belgium as Eupen travel to Gent.

These are the leagues third and fourth highest scoring teams this season.

Gent has racked up 12 goals so far, that’s an average of 2 per game.
Better yet, they have scored at least one goal in all six league games. Yet they’ve only kept one clean sheet in that time.

Eupen also have issues in defence. Like Gent, they’ve also kept just a single clean sheet this season after conceding 13 across their seven league games.

Only three other teams have conceded more goals than Eupen and just two of them have a higher xGA.

Yet Eupen have no issue finding goals. They’ve scored 10 this season the joint-fourth highest in the league.

Gent are the better side here. They sit top of the table, whereas Eupen lie in 10th.

There’s a chance here that Gent just shut Eupen out, in which case I can see them going on to score plenty of goals.

Or Eupen will put up a fight and find a way through Gent’s defence.
Either way, I’m expecting goals and I’m backing over 2.5 of them here.

Braga vs Boavista

If you have a read of my European acca pack in the email you will notice that just two teams have a 100% BTTS record this season: Braga and Boavista.

Yeah okay we’re only five games into the new season, but this stat means both these sides have scored and conceded at least one goal in each of those five games.

Boavista, who finished mid-table last season, currently sit top of the table on 13 points and have scored 14 goals, more than any other team in the league.

That averages to 2.80 goals per game, and they’re up against a Braga side who look shaky at the back.

Braga have conceded 10 goals this season which is one of the worst records in the league.

But they’ve made up for lost ground by having also scored 10 goals in their first five games, the joint-third highest in the league.

Boavista have had an amazing start to the season, but three out of five of their games have been up against bottom third teams.

They’re a decent side, but their record of conceding just six goals this season is flattering.

I’m expecting goals here and both teams should find the net at least once.
