Hartlepool vs Solihull Moors

Football icon Solihull To Score A Goal

The odds for this pick are just too good to ignore.

Solihull Moors are second in the league and are one of just two teams who have scored at least one goal in every game.

In total, they’ve netted themselves 19 goals so far this season. This averages to 1.73 goals per game.

But it’s their opponents that are the real standouts here. Hartlepool’s defence is terrible.

They’re sixth in the league and have the third-highest goals tally.
Yet they’ve conceded 21 goals to date. Only two other teams have conceded more.

Better still, they’ve only kept one clean sheet all season, and that was again Dag & Red, hardly anything to write home about.

Solihull are a quality side fighting to win promotion to League Two and against Hartlepool’s defence, it’s hard to imagine them not scoring at least one goal.

Port Vale vs Sutton United

League One Port Vale will take on League Two Sutton United in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night.

Well, I say League Two, but we’re just nine games into the new season and Sutton look dead and buried in that league.

They shocked everyone by beating Notts Co 5-1 on the first day of the season, but it’s been all downhill since then.

Following that game they went on a seven-game losing streak before somehow managing to hold MK Dons to a draw on the weekend.

They’ve also conceded more goals than any other team in the league. And, on average, they’re conceding an incredible 3.50 goals per game when playing away from home.

Port Vale on the other hand sit fourth in the league and fancy their chances of winning promotion this season.

These two teams are just polar opposites to each other at the moment and Port Vale should breeze past Sutton on home turf.

Mallorca vs Barcelona

League leaders Barcelona head into this game having won their last five previous league fixtures and will fancy their chances against a Mallorca side who are struggling to avoid the relegation spots.

Mallorca have lost three out of the six games they’ve played this season, but their fixture list has been extremely tame, so even that record is slightly flattering to them.

Barcelona on the other hand are firing on all cylinders and are playing some incredible football. They’re averaging an xG of 2.32, by far the highest in the league by some distance.

They’re also the league’s joint-highest goal scorers and are dominating games with just shy of 70% possession on average.

I’m not really one to look back at past results but they’re just too good to ignore here. Barcelona have won this tie on the last 11 occasions – a record stretching back to 2010.

And given the way both teams are playing, I think they’ll make it 12 on the spin tonight.
