Wolves v Man City

Six of the last seven games between these two have seen City bag themselves two goals, and I’m backing them to repeat the feat again on Saturday afternoon.

Saying that Wolves have conceded more goals than Luton should tell you all you need to know about their defence.

They’ve conceded 12 times in six games, 2.00 goals per 90 and have kept just the one clean sheet, and that was against Everton.

Wolves just aren’t the team they were last season, whereas Manchester City are arguably even better.

They’ve scored 16 goals in six games which averages to 2.67 per 90.
Better still, they have scored at least once in every single game. And have scored twice in every game bar Newcastle.

If you’re backing Manchester City to win 1-0 against Wolves then you’re slightly mad. They should rip them to pieces and move on to their next victim.

West Ham v Sheffield United

Sheffield United have the worst in the league by some margin after their 8-0 demolition at the hands of Newcastle last weekend.

They would love an easy game against a bottom half team to ease themselves back in and to rebuild their confidence. Instead, they’ve got West Ham away.

A team that would easily be challenging for a four top place if they could sort their own shoddy defence out.

But we’re just looking for the two West Ham goals here, and I fancy their chances of finding them against Sheffield United.

The Hammer are averaging 1.83 goals a game at the moment. But once you take out their last two matches against Manchester City and Liverpool that average jumps to 2.25 goals.

West Ham play a Sheffield side that are now conceding 2.83 goals on average per game and have yet to keep a clean sheet, I don’t expect West Ham to have any issues finding the net twice here.

Newcastle v Burnley

Burnley’s one goal this weekend? To avoid an embarrassing 8-0 defeat to Newcastle.

They already know that a win or a draw against the Magpies at St James’s Park is pretty much impossible.

Only Sheffield United concede more goals than Burnley, 2.60 on average and have yet to keep a clean sheet.

Newcastle have scored in every single game bar their August fixture against Manchester City, although they did score in midweek against them in the EFL cup.

The Magpies are the joint-second highest goal scorers in the Premier League and are averaging 2.67 goals per game.

Burnley will struggle to avoid relegation this season and Newcastle should put them to the sword on Saturday afternoon.

They’ve scored 18 goals this season, the joint-highest in the league. That averages to 2.57 goals per game and 3.0 goals when playing at home.
