Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City
Rodri is Manchester City’s lynchpin in midfield, but he is the Champions’ most carded player by some distance.
9 yellow’s this season means he is averaging a card every 2.55 games and it is no surprise when you look at the amount of fouls he is committing.
Rodri averages 1.46 fouls per 90 in 23/24 and has conceded 17 in his last 10 games alone.
A magnificent player but always likely to be in and around the ref’s book, Rodri was booked in City’s previous encounter with Spurs and will likely be up against the returning James Maddison in tonight’s tie.
Spurs have missed their summer signing and its easy to see why. One of the most creative players in the league, Maddison draws on average 2.58 fouls per game.
With Rodri commiting 2+ fouls in 7 of his last 10 games and receiving a yellow card in 5 of them, this is one bet I’m very confident about.
Destiny Udogie is Spurs’ second most carded player this season, with 7 yellows and a red in 18 appearances.
With Ange Postecoglou’s high intensity approach, there seems to be a lot of emphsis on the full backs, who cover all areas of the pitch.
The Italian is averaging a card every 215 minutes and around 1.79 fouls per 90. He won’t have much tougher tests than his opponents tonight and was booked in the December’s 3-3 draw between the sides.
2+ fouls has landed in 7 of Udogie’s last 10 Spurs matches and in that time he has received 5 yellow cards and a red.
Tonight he’s likely to be up against either Phil Foden or Bernardo Silva, both of whom are having terrific seasons. Foden is the more likely to draw a foul, averaging 1.91 per 90 this season. Whilst the Portugese is slightly lower at 0.82 per match.
